This posting failed a week ago....so next try! Here are my CD800 brothers, one with the "regular, the other one with the "standing" hinge. Micha first the "regular" one in a black case with light blue inlet-the case...
That's more than interesting-Nr.1 is a textbook Godet-is it a convex one? If not it would be the first flat one I've ever seen. Nr.2 is strange-Is it the one from DN's update a few weeks ago? All the years I've never seen one of them-this is the 2nd in acouple of weeks! The core looks a little like the "square"type, but as long I haven't got the 2nd type in my collection I can't compare them.Let's wait what Mike can tell us about these two EKs. Micha
That's a good one-as said before, from the 30ies.There are a few variations of the core, frame and clamshell attatchment...an own collecting field! Micha
Here's the one from Yurp.....lol! Yes,indeed there are a few different cores used by "WILM".And also different stampings at the ribbon ring.i would like to show a few different variations, but unfortunately I'm in Denmark at the moment(with some working mates...).So if I will find the time(the beer here's bloody expensive) I would like to start a "WILM" thread..... Micha
A lucky day for me....a "textbook" J.W.S EK2! One of the rarest makers-KMST pinbacks are easy to find in comparison to a "J.W.S."So a long hunt has an end(bloody overpriced, but I had to take it....damned addiction!) So now my first class of the same maker is no longer alone! Obverse
Remember this one? Von Boelke is a name to remember...... http://cgi.ebay.de/Ordensspange-RoterAdler...1QQcmdZViewItem And here it was sold before........ http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...A%3AIT&rd=1
I agree with Joe-the '14 Ek2 was a mass award,so they used everything they had.Don't forget, all this Eks where handmade,so they shurly didn't wanted to waist the working time. Btw,the thick ring is typical for this maker. Micha
