Romanian Victory Medals

Lambert, Thank you! Just looked a little "odd" to me. Jason -
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Romanian Medical Merit Cross (Crucea Meritul Sanitar) for my collection, but it has the wrong ribbon. I was wondering if anyone could help me in locating the correct full sized replacement ribbon (either online store, or maybe have a spare length of ribbon to sell...)? I also am wondering what ribbon is currently on it? Thanks in advance for your assistance! Kindest regards, Jason

Hello everyone! I have always loved this medal! I have been reading a lot about it, and I have found there appears to be 2 different strikings of the medal. One states "FIDELITÉ" and is marked "Brandt"; the other states "FIDELITE" (no accent) and is not marked "Brandt". I have only ever seen photos of the latter version (according to; "Reference Catalogue Orders, Medals and Decorations of the World – Part II, Bronze Book", by Borna Barac). Anyway, here's mine:

Romanian Victory Medals

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could your opinions on this piece? I've been burned before on "official" strikes of the Victory medal. To me, it looks a little to shiny and there's that weird looking line on the bottom reverse... http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-WW1-ROMANIA-ARMY-INTERALLIED-VICTORY-MEDAL-1914-1918-/331865087719 Thanks for your thoughts! Ah, thanks for the ribbon info! I thought it looked familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. No, didn't spend too much on it. I think what I'll do is find a Neufchatel medal, and give the mount the medal it deserves. I believe the medal itself to be OK, so I just might up selling the medal and finding another mounting that is correct. Thanks again! Jason

Hi again everyone! Just going through some of my recent purchases and I have been wondering about my China Campaign Medal I picked up. It wasn't until today that I noticed that the ribbon wasn't correct. It's missing the second white stripe in the middle. Also, the campaign clasp seems to be a little "cheaply made" to me. I'm not too concerned about the ribbon as it is definitely old and dirty (just curious as to what ribbon it actually is for), but I do want your opinions on the clasp and the medal... Thank for you time! Jason

Hi everyone! Just won this bar today! I know it's Hessen and not complete/correct (medals in wrong order, and the 1930 sports medal just really doesn't fit! ). I want to eventually restore it to its original glory and I wanted to check with you all to see what the first medal should me. I'm sure I know the answer, but wanted to double check first... ??? Tom, You didn't spoil my joy about the decoration. I was just wondering from my original posting if it a "silver" or "bronze" grade of the award. I couldn't tell from the photos when I purchased it (all I knew was that is was made of Kriegsmetall), but once I received it today I could tell it had been silver plated/washed. Thank you, Jason

Hi everyone! UPDATE: The decoration just arrived a few minutes ago and I was able to confirm that it is a SILVER award. It is very hard to tell from the photos, but when seeing it in person there is still a lot of the bright shiny silver wash left on it, especially in the large flat areas on the back, and on the front around the text. Thanks again everyone! Jason
