I would say that it is a Hesse piece as well, for combattants and non-combattants there are many possibilities for Hesse medals (long service, landwehr, Kriegsehrenzeichen...) and it would match that bar more than a turkish war medal... look at the bar attached. Heiko

I just want to say (with a tear in my eyes...) that the prices for my collection area has been really impressive in this auction... Some of the medal bars I was bidding on climbed on the mount everest.... I hope they came into good hands (Claudio...? ) Does anybody know if there is still more stuff to come from these two great collections? Heiko

just to complete the confusion I want to say that red-white-blue are also the colours of the german state Schleswig Holstein and I know some regimental,veteran or rememberance medals from there having similar ribbons... Hi Bob, overlapping ribbon bar style was typical for austrin bars.... I have seen it often on austrian ribbon bars and even if yours is not total austrian there is one on it... Heiko

Bob, here they are... one with some additionals on a black/white/red ribbon and another one on a blue/white/red ribbon - I think the last one is the original ribbon belonging to the medal... Heiko

no, it is just an inofficial rememberence medal... most of them are on their own but I know some mounted on the medal bar. I have somewhere a picture with ribbon, maybe tonight... Heiko

very cool bar, I have seen it on ebay, the last one (left) is the W?rttemberg Wilhelmscross for war merit but WITHOUT swords!!! Matching the other awards on the bar... Heiko

as beautyful as all other bars!!!! Great stuff, i love these green saxon colours and the big swords on these large ribbon bars!!!

Gentlemen.... after a long time of no news on this ribbon last friday this one appeared on the scene by Detlev in Hamburg - the riddle is solved and this is the first time in my life I have seen this cross!!!! Heiko

I think the Orleans clasp would not match the other two clasps because it has been for a different armee korps - but possible was everything.... what do you think? Heiko

shall we buy some from him and check them in the ribbon lab??? I had something from him years ago and it was the same stuff as today... if these ribbons are original he must have miles of ribbon.....
