LOL... three more days! I actually cannot wait until it is over and done with! I know that the Kashan badge is good as I got it from Igor about 14 years ago. I dont know about the back nut though. The badge looks identical to the good one you posted. There are several other differences as well... 1. Lack of detail in the laurel surrounding the badge 2. Type of metal(darkened brass) 3. The enamal looks strange on the fake 4. The letters/numbers in the banner appear raised in the fake while flush and smooth to the enamal surface on the original. Thank you again for your expertice! Thank you Rick! I did not know that Igor was selling these as well. He has really started to branch out a bit! The one I like the first is the first one(the one later replaced by the RSR). That is the only one I could not find in the reference given by Ed. Is it pretty rare? I am suprised that these are worth as much as stated! II need to make up a display box for them. Paul

Hello again... Sorry for all of the posts yet I have permission to use the scanner and I want to make the most of it! First up is my Hero star. I was told that it was a wear's copy(?) I bought for very cheap about 15 years ago. Most of the gilt has worn off.

Hi, I just want to take the opportunity to post a couple of Guards badges. I know to many, these are pretty common and are ruled as nothing really special. These are special to me because I received them from the people who actually wore them. The Cuban one came from a migrant that was on a boat with many others, trying to make it to the US. The gentleman gave it to me as he left our vessel. The Soviet badge came from a long time friend who served in the military back in the late 70s. How many other nations have (or had) these badges? If there are others, please do post them!!!
