Will check the saxon Militär-Verordnungsblatt 1911 and 1914 Ranklist tonight . Hallo Andreas. An dieser Rangliste wäre ich sehr interessiert. Könnte ich die als Kopie o.ä. bekommen? Gruß Stefan PS: mentioned Rudolf Barth (born 24.7.81 in Hettstedt, Provinz Sachsen) received the St. Henry KC in April 1918 as Hauptmann in general-Staff of 53. saxon Reserve-Division.

Hi guys. I bought this nice photo from ebay last week as a birthday present to myself. It´s the first of it´s kind for me. So I´m interested if someone is able to give me some background infos. Where these pics sold seperately or as a whole scrapbook or something else? One unusual thing is the printed name on it. The pics I´ve seen so far were all without any note of the portrayed person. Gruß Stefan

A search in the casualty list showed 14 hits to Arthur Ramm: http://des.genealogy.net/eingabe-verlustlisten/search/index Most likely he´s the one from Reinfeld, Stormarn, who was wounded in early 1915 as an Unteroffizier in 2nd company / Brigade-Ersatz-Bataillon 36 (which on 15th July 1915 then formed the 3rd bataillon / IR 361) and was reported missing in 1918 as Offizier-Stellvertreter. The pics on post 2 show definitive some guys wearing fantasy uniforms for a theatre play on the napoleonic era. I think the guy on the chair is to represent General Bluecher. Gruß Stefan

Freiherr von Pentz (1882-1968) was a former active, then reserve officer of saxon Ulanen Rgt. 17. In 1917/1918 he was a batallion cdr. in IR 134. His younger sister Helene was married with Carl Heinrich von Stülpnagel, later Wehrmacht General and 1944 condemned to death. Gruß Stefan Sorry, have some trouble with pic-uploading -

Sweden Hauptmann von Uggla, Swedish Life Guard
IR 134 posted a topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Good morning everybody! The former saxon officer Vieth von Golßenau alias Ludwig Renn names in his book "Adel im Untergang" this swedish officer who was commmanded for duty-service to the saxon Leib-Grenadier-Regiment 100 Dresden in ca. 1912-1913. Can someone give me further details of him? Many thanks. Gruß Stefan P.S. found this in the Sverige statskalender 1915: Carl Gustafsson Uggla, captain in Nr. 1 Royal Swedish Life Guard Infantry. http://runeberg.org/statskal/1915/0206.html -
Maybe it´s of some interest. Here´s a fantastic list of those Officers who were commanded to Germany and the German Army from 1870-1914 with some career dates. http://edoc.hu-berlin.de/japonica-hu/11/hartmann-rudolf-93/PDF/hartmann.pdf Gruß Stefan

Think I´ve got it: It´s Rudolf Krantz (name on the pic false written), St. Henry Winner, Kdr. of Reichswehr-IR 11 and Wehrmacht-General who was wounded at the Eastern front as Cdr. 454 Sicherungsdivision and died in Dresden . From 1887-1891 he was a cadet in Dresden which fit with the dating on the picture. Anyone able to provide a later pic of him please? Gruß Stefan

I´ve got hold of this saxon cadet pic. I´m 99 % sure that the name on the back reads "Rudolf Franz". I´ve checked the register of the cadet corps from Johannes Hoeser from 1937 and there was no second person with this or a similar name at the corps. But what confuses me is a) the Dating 1887-1888 (Arrow): Rudolf Franz was born 1893, joined the saxon cadet corps 1907, left it 1913 to join Ulanrenrgt. 21. One year later he fell in Poland. He received the St. Henry posthumously. and b) the photographers adress: according to Adreßbuch Dresden Atelier Th. Kirsten was in Bautznerstr. 79 only from 1876-1887. What are your opinions relating to the name? Gruß Stefan

How nice: Plauen is my birthtown also Brigade-Ersatz-Bat. 89 was formed by 89. Brigade (IR 133 and 134) at the outbreak of War. It consisted of each 2 companies from the Replacement-Bataillons of both regiments and attached to 19th Ersatz-Division. 1915 used to raise the Ersatz-Infanterie-Rgt. 40. Thank you Gunnar
