    1. Seriously who would buy these fakes? Some people have no shame.
    2. Nice collection. Have a few of these myself. I found these to be not so inexpensive. Pick them up at military shows for the heck of it. Some unknowledgable dealers think they are fake and you can get some for a steal.
    3. Beautiful. Complete belts make for one heck of a display. Now you need a complete kit to outfit the belt.
    4. Those copied pins drive me nuts. Guy just tried to sell me one for $20. Told him I wouldn't give him $1. Seem to be everywhere.
    5. I posted the pics on another spot "My first one" I am already thinking about the next one. Any good ideas on how to go about getting more without having to go to shows all the time?
    6. Thanks. I will just give it a good dusting with a soft brush. I can see how this could be addictive.
    7. Here is the reverse. Scanner is horrible. Need to recharge my camera.
    8. I just purchased this today. My first EKII. Can anyone tell me about it. Can't really make out the mark on the ring. Thanks. Also, should I clean the crud off?
    9. The best way I have found to store the flags are...Find a big cardboard roll. Get some thin seperating paper. Roll the flag on the cardboard roll with the acid free paper. You may even be able to find a sleeve to cover the rolled flag. Keep flag in a non-humid area. You have a beautiful flag there that deserves to be preserved and enjoyed.
    10. Just returned from a show and made my first EKII purchase. I had a friend with me and I bought from a dealer I trust and have done business with before. A funny story...a female dealer was selling items way overpriced..she wanted to sell me an EKII for $350..I said yeah, maybe in 12 years. I told her the going rate and she challenged me to find one for that price...ten minutes later I walked back to her with the cross and the pricetag still attached..she wouldn't even look at me. I can't stand people like that. The cross she had was in horrible shape with a perfect ribbon..not a spot of fading whatsoever..Thanks for welcoming me to this part of the hobby. My collection is growing by great amounts each purchasing trip I make..I like to call it hunting..I do this with some friends and it's really a great time. Once again thanks.
    11. Holy Mother..That collection is what I dream about. Unbelievable. Wanna sell an EKII?
    12. Sure would be. What a nice piece. Need to find a way to display it. Maybe devote entire room to your collection and use the flag as a center piece.
    13. Even though I am kind of new to the hobby I can see that this stuff is crap. A rule I learned from fellow collectors is rarely if never buy anything you can't touch or see for yourself. Or in this case, if it looks like junk it is junk. That is what this forum is for, educate and share.
    14. I love the big flags. I made a purchase of an 18 footer for less than $100. Nice piece of history. It is true about the display theory. If it is difficult to be displayed then it will cost less. I just have a gut feeling as more and more becomes scarce, the values will increase. Not a bad idea to stockpile flags etc.
    15. I am still new to this hobby. Lately I have had the urge to start collecting Iron Crosses. I am planning on starting with EKII and working my way up. Question..What to look for in an Iron Cross, how to tell authenticity and how prevalent are the reproductions? I have not seen any side by side comparisons as of yet and would like to have more knowledge on this topic. I plan on purchasing literature on the topic. First reference book should be here soon. Planning a trip to make purchase very soon. Any help would be kindly appreciated. A topic should be started for new collectors in each area to help train us newbies in the art of not getting raked over the coals.
