    1. I have grouped three medals together for this (influenced by AVERS No 6.) Here is a Medal for Saving a life from Drowning together with a Variation 4 Document to Toomas Iohanosovish Viik Awarded since 1957 for saving a life from drowning or for planning which avoids this along with exemplary organization in life guard service. Chris
    2. Chris, was that RK the one on Detlev's site about a month ago?...yes. I have no problem with butchered items if they come from the man himself...what he did to them is his prerogative... I admit untouched would be nice but I bought them as denazed items. Chris
    3. This award is to a Major knoop who was CO of Infantry regiment 377. He earned it for personal bravery in leading his HQ as a mobile reserve when no other forces were available to turn the tide of the battle. I have been informed that it was de-nazified whilst a POW. Chris
    4. Also his de-nazified Spanish cross as he was a big player in that affair. Chris
    5. The man himself, I think taken after his release as a POW which shows they still held their heads high
    6. This is the same cross next to a worn early issue KC of the same material and maker which is unaltered and worn on a Iron cross 2nd ribbon. Chris
    7. Perhaps with all the detail shown to pristine cross's de-nazified have perhaps been ignored. I have two to date with known provenance. This one awarded to Walter Grabmann on 14 September 1940, then Oberstleutnant, commander, Zerst?rergeschwader 76 Walter Grabmann. He ended up as a major general. This one is also unusual as it is made of German silver and as always the process of removing the Nazi symbol appears to have been done with contempt. Chris
    8. There is a definite connection to this ribbon and Guards Units. The Naval Guards Badge was an official award. Veteran Guards badges carry this prestigious ribbon Regards Chris
    9. Well no big deal, but the fact that I have a documented group to a Guards Major who has put that proudly on his medal display and that only guards unit vets badges have this ribbon....I made the connection. Also here is a Naval Guards badge before they were made to wear the more conventional ones as in above... Chris
    10. Heres a Veterans badge for a Guards unit...notice the ribbon on top....
    11. It is a WW2 OPW 2nd class...the ribbon denotes a Guards unit.
    12. Paul This is a Guards Badge which is mounted I a sure by the vet himself (I found it this way with all docs). A Nice worn WW2 issue badge. The guy himself was a Major and I am sure he was wounded and invalided out as he has both the Victory over Germany Military and civilian version. Chris
