    1. I have to admit I know little about these medals, they are Ministry rather than State awards, and they are pukka. They came in three class's .... I have seen a Russian TV star wearing a 3rd class in civvies. So to all you guys out there with detailed information...slam it up. Attached are the three classes...they did come with different ribbon bars signifying Russia and its satellite states...that I do know....these type are for Russia Cheers Chris
    2. This is the complete series....quite a gathering of soviet imagery... Chris
    3. Rick, well, he did get the "Veteran of Labour" and a "Order of Miners Glory 3rd class" Chris
    4. Also included was his wife's Veteran of Labour medal...attached are the pair to husband and wife Chris
    5. Dmitriev Alexandr Markovish also received these medals but he must have made his bar pre 85. Chris
    6. I found a nice ribbon bar with all his medals and documents! Chris
    7. Gentlemen, If I may ask you for information on this piece, it is not made of silver and appears worn. The frames are split just like other old cross's I have. But, is this because it is a made for tourist piece or a genuine older item? as somebody once said to me...its a bit tatty to be worn by a KC holder. Thanks Chris
    8. Biro Good effort....great to see one complete with docs and his Lenin...what's the story behind this one then! Chris

    10. Oh....one other thing if I may be so bold...do any of you guys have HSU's...if so, how about banging them up.... Chris
    11. Thanks Wild Card... He was declared HSU 16.10.43...the decrees must be back dated to some sort of system of when they were received, but not processed. The dates of the decrees are important as they equal privileges... Chris
    12. Well, he did his deed on the 30.9.43 and was awarded the title on the 16.10.43. Info from Paul mcDaniels Chris

    14. Still after the 1944 award...German POW's were used as the "slave labour" during this time...fair one...you break it you make it. Chris
    15. The LS and GC (HM Forces) is awarded for 15 years service after the age of 18 having finished training, or if older, after 15 years service, also after training. Of course, it is awarded only if you are not caught being naughty or a culmination of 15 years if there is a break in VG conduct. Chris
    16. The reason why these medals are relatively inexpensive is that 350,000 1st class were awarded.... but these hangers are much harder to find...the highest number observed in P.D's book is 22,529 and the lowest 6,607 for a Variation 3... this number is nice and low and definitely awarded for more than making good tea for the boss.
