hi alls i would thank any light on this "KM DONALD DUCK gilt small eagle cap"... it was a gift from a friend,if it is KM donald duck cap eagle where i see first time theses 2(one is lost) metallic and horizontal pieces type of attatchment....was posible for those km caps? allways i,ve seen stickpin on those pieces back.... i was said this is an early eagle version(1934-35) very rare used on KM sailor cap.... hi morten i have been looking this thread you started a few years ago and what i think you have a huge collection of pictures!!!!!!! what a good hunting you have in norway every weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! as i told you my favourite km items are cap tallies,pics,sailor donald duck cap and visors but of course the rest always is interesting to display a nice collection,in my km collection i have only 3 badges(coastal artillery,minesweeper,u-boat) a few cap tallies and a few pics,only a sailor cap("COBRA")...nothing as you keep sharing your weekend find!!!!!!!! tak fernando

yes i did about post in WAF and i hope so as you cap is original because is my only one and was so expensive to me when i bought it but i think it will be impossible to get the final determination,only would be possible if somebody posted the files from COBRA maker,how many logos did the use in the past...etc http://www.wehrmacht...t=215884&page=2 TAK fernando

in mine is thick too and it is not possible to fold it,black and shiny as i can see in this pic you posted from your friend,s cap... eduardo told me yesterday is ok construction the stiffener in your friend cap and mine has the prob with the maker(COBRA) but the cap is O.K. imo in his opinion but definitelly private purchasing km cap always will have doubts and of course if are signed by "COBRA"

ok ,this is enough to me from you and may be somebody else can post if this navy base was used by romanian sailors and kriegsmarine german sailor together because this picture came from a old german than his fathers was destinated at black sea during the war...:beer:

hi carol congratulations...you are right,this you said is the legend in the cap tally.... do you know more things about CONSTANTA city as romanian navy base then in ww2 and about romanian sailors destinated at black sea during ww2 as mine in the picture used this cap tally or the whole romanian navy used this cap tally? regards from spain fernando

as eduardo(KM-SPAIN) stated to me the stiffener from this matrosen cap and my private km sailor cap(COBRA) discussed on the forum are the same type...black plastic celluloid material thicker and stiff too,this kind of material it seems to be accepted for stiffener in the KM sailor caps private purchase...and of course private purchase always will be in discussions as all of us know by the material,the construction,the maker,etc fernando

hi alls recently i purchased this ww2 pic where we can see a sailor and his girlfriend,the person who gave me the pic told me was took in the black sea,we can see stamped city of CONSTANTA,i would thank any light to translate the cap tally legend...i can see 3 words:the first word i can see only the final letters,it would be:...PARAREA,second word i can see very clear:FIXA(this letter "A" has a point on top)the last word is:MARITIMA

anybody knows something about publishing the km cap tallies second part book...? im missing this book and i hope it would be make for new year 2011 thanks for news about it

hi gordon i wonder the same thing than Morten...was possible as www2 period this kind of black material(it seems plastic) the stiffener wire under the sweat band and do you think is only for private purchase cap that used this black material to build stiffener as one posted here? thanks in advance :cheers:

finally i agree it is impossible get a final determination with my cap,the last thing i lift the sweatband and folded the lining to look at stiffener and was dusty and when i cleaned with my finger point without break sttitching i saw a black stiffener and soft ,heavy,(vinyl or plastic was possible only for private cap or what material it could be but it is not carboard for sure...what it could be? because in the suppose the hat is original KM private purchase cap as all the thing from this cap is rare or a mistery and i think it is difficult to know... thanks for discussing to all:cheers:

i would thank you post a BUNDESMARINE cap for comparison as soon as possible to give an explanation to a person who posted short response(THIS IS BUNDESMARINE CAP..) nr nesredep didn,t argue me any reason to say such thing,it is too easy say such response without explanations..!!!!! perhaps even the hat could be SPANISH NAVY...isn,t mr nesredep....????????? for the same explanation than bundesmarine cap: :banger:

im not an expert but it is to easy say :this KM SAILORS hat is bundesmarine and no more words....why is a bundesmarine and even without take on your hands? at the moment the only person who had on his hand this cap was KM-SPAIN and he never said this hat was 100/% OK but never said BUNDESMARINE too...and may be you have one BUNDESMARINE cap with logo as mine....?even Gordon said for those private purchase cap is not easy to know and always will be difficult to know and get the agreement from the whole people... please could you explain step by step why is a BUNDESMARINE cap or why is not a KM cap when at first was impossible to say with those pics... and now with more small pics you are really sure is bundesmarine... all the best but im not so sure BUNDESMARINE cap,this thing at the moment is difficult to prove it and of course difficult prove it KM cap too

hi gordon i agree with you...with a km private purchase as mine always is difficult to get a final determination because probably is impossible find another COBRA sailor cap with logo as mine and even is difficult find more COBRA from others branches of wehrmacht too and another prob is than the COBRA maker was used for janke,s fakes and others... and probably is imposible to get info about the maker(how many differents logos used and place in germany where was based...) my conclusion is the materials are the real key for these private items but not the total key... regards
