Very nice. I just picked up my first one a couple weeks ago. I'm doing a display of a German vet I have met. Since his still with us I will only use his fist name. Willi was in the Luftwaffe, FLAK. In a riker mount I have his signed photo, and the proper awards. EKI,EK2, Russian front medal, KVK, Black wound badge. All I need now is a Krim shield. Willi has some awsome storries to tell. He also shot down 2 Sturmoviks. He is quite the gentleman. byf
Thanks for the info ALp. Yes I know of the situation in the later years of the KM.If Doenitz had gotten what he wanted when he wanted they would have won. I guess it's good for us that Dolf couldn't see the big picture. byf
There does not seem to be much Imperial stuff around compared to Nazi stuff. But prices are going up. I have a M1918 Helm with liner, no chin strap. I paid $50 for it some years ago. Now I see them going for $400-$500. I was shocked to find this out. I have discussed it with some helmet experts and that is what they say. That stuff is coming up on 100 years old. Prices should be up. byf
I have never had many KM items and currently have but one U-Boot badge. What would a sailor needed to have done to be awarded one of these? Thanks. byf
Yes it was the Krummlauf. It had holes drilled in it to let gas escape. It hooked on to an MP44 with a mirror site and angled the rounds at 30-40 degrees. Maybe 90 in a model or Panzer defence. They suposedly lasted for a few hundred rounds before they burned out. byf
What a beautiful rifle. They shoot real well too. I bought one years ago for $450. Now they go for a minimum of $1000 or more. Why did I ever get rid of it? byf
