    11. Living in Paris, I can have conveniently the opportunity to visit the Mus?e de la L?gion d'Honneur. This museum, closed during several years, has just re-opened its doors last November. A thread has been dedicated to the re-opening of the Museum, inaugurated by jacques Chirac, President of the Republic of France : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12826 As I can easily pay it a visit, if you're interested, I propose you to post here pictures of the orders and medals you want. Don't hesitate, just ask... and I'll try to do it!! But, please, don't be too demanding regarding the timing . Meanwhile, here are a few pics of this Museum. Many more to come!!! Cheers. Ch.
    12. Hi Guy, Look at the strips. They don't have the same proportion... Cheers. Ch.
    13. Hey, I don't know... Each time I see a pic of this badge, it looks like a different type... Ch.
    14. Yes, 5 Companions in 6 month time... And the tempo can only accelerate... Ch.
    15. Neither in the book nor in the museum is said anything about the awardees of these two collars. It is said that these collars of the Order of Carol I and of Ferdinand I have been made by Resch, in Bucharest. I'm not sure they have been awarded... Ch.
    16. Only 70 surviving Companions of the Liberation We have learnt last week the death on Christmas day of Jacques Roumegu?re, Companion of the Lib?ration. Jacques Roumegu?re, born in 1917, participated to France and Belgium campaigns. He then joined the Great Britain and the Free French forces in 1940. He fought in Africa, in Libya, Tunisia... before fighting in Italy and France. He has been wounded at Bir-Hakeim in June 1942. He has been made Companion of tthe Lib?ration in September 1942. After the war, he will become Deputy Secretary of the Order of the Liberation, and will have different positions in several ministries and consulates. Here is his bio (in French) : http://www.ordredelaliberation.fr/fr_compagnon/870.html After his death, there are now only 70 surviving Companions of the Liberation. Ch. 17. I have not seen here all the posts, as most of them have been edited since their initial publication. So, difficult to make an opinion. 1st point. All here, amongst them Christian, Doc and Nick (by alphabetical order) seem willing to cool the debate. That's a good thing and sign for the future. 2nd point. Other Members here (amongst them myself) appreciate your contributions and inputs. 3rd point. These points seem enough to me to think that this debate has now to be closed, and all Members here mentioned stay in the Forum to bring the better of their knowledge (which is wider than they can imagine...). I propose this thread to be closed now. Cheers. Ch. (For the benefit of GMIC).
    18. Hi Doc, That's a point I have to check, but I really don't think there should be any pb, here in Paris. I'll pdate you on this. Cheers. Ch.
    19. No pb. I have even some pics of these orders in the Museum. PM your e-mail address for the pics of the book. I'll post the other pics I have taken here... but not before this week-end (some work to do on them) . Ch.
    20. Maybe the Grand Collar of the Order of Carol I, or the one of the Order of Ferdinand I, both gift of the King Carol II to France ? Ch.
    21. I have this book. It is not any more for sale in the Museum. What are you looking for ? Ch.
    22. Carol, No pb. I will have to check the next time. Ch.
