    3. On the occasion of a trip to South Korea this month, I plan to pay a visit to the DMZ. Have some of you already been there ? What did you visit ? : Panmunjeom villages, tunnels, etc... What Tour Operators do you recommand ? There are some mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide... Any suggestions ? Many thanks in advance. Cheers. Ch.

    14. Close-up pic of the medals of the second man on the left (right to Putin) : On the last row (the bottom one) some Umatalova medals. From left to right : 2nd medal : Marshal Zhukov Centenary Medal, 4th medal : Medal for 80th Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces... Ch.
    15. An interesting pic about how to wear orders and medals (Soviet and Russians)... This pic shows Vladimir Putin with Red Army veterans of WW2, at the Bolshoi theater, on 8 May 2005, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 60 years of the end of WW2. Even if Putin is there, interesting to notice : The man in civil clothes, on the left of the pic, has his own way to wear his medals (quite classical). The second man on the left (right to Putin) has a more conventional way to wear them. But, if you carefully look at them, you will notice on the last row (the bottom one) some Umatalova medals. These are "unofficial" and have been forbidden by the Russian Government. You will notice from left to right : 2nd medal : Marshal Zhukov Centenary Medal, 4th medal : Medal for 80th Anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces... The third man (left to Putin) has also his own order to wear them, with the long service medal on first place. Interesting to notice the place of the Order of Friendship of People and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. This is not an unusual way to wear the orders, on the top of the medals. Etc, etc... A nice and interesting pic. Ch. Pic : Victor Drachev / AFP.
    16. I would not have the idea to buy one original one on eBay... I certainly would take more guaranties... BTW, what is now the market price of an original one ? Has someone already seen one original for sale at Detlev Niemann ? Ch.
    17. Rick, or others, Just for information/confirmation, is there such a pic in Dr.Battushig's book ? Thanks. Ch.
    18. Yes, I noticed this also. Interesting to know, as I would be delighted to have one in my collection... in the future. Many thanks for your answer. Ch.
    19. Hi Gordon, Very interesting thread !!! I'm more than interested in knowing why the "Wagner" name seems to appear in double on the back of your clasp. Is it something already noticed ? Is there any known reason ? Ch.

    22. Medal "We Conquered" That's all I have on it : Instituted on 20 November 1945, this medal was awarded to both military and civilian participants who assisted in the fighting against "Japanese imperialistic agression". Some 60,000 are supposed to be awarded. USSR personnel has received this medal. Ch.
    23. Rick, As requested, Here is the Medal "We conquered", in its version awarded to foreigners, with a soviet style suspension. Ch. Pic : Vatjan @ www.soviet-awards.com
