    1. So, if I have understood : There is two "Kriegerverdienstmedaille" : 1/ the latest : the "Preussische Kriegerverdienstmedaille" created in 1835 who exist in 2 models : - 1835-1872 with "FW III R" monogram, medal in silver - 1872-1918 with "WR" monogram, also in silver - awarded to foreigners. 2/ the "Deutsche Kriegerverdienstmedaille", created in 1892, who exist with 2 classes and 2 ranks : - 1st class, gold medal : "Guilelmus II Imperator" and "Kriegerverdienst" on the other side, golden silver - 1st class, silver medal, same inscriptions, but in silver - 2nd class, gold medal : monogram "WR" and "Kriegerverdienst" on the other side, gold or golden silver - 2nd class, silver medal, same inscriptions, but only in silver... - awarded to police's forces and german's forces on german colonies. One question again : it's really impossible to differentiate a "Preussische KVM" and a "Deutsche KVM, 2nd class silver medal" ??? Mine seems to be in white-metal (end of war or copy ?), photo is a very very clear, sorry... And, according to OEK, there is a variant of the KVM written "Kriegs Verdienst"... So like the 2nd class military honor insignia ! Second question : how differentiate a KVM "Kriegs-Verdienst" and a MEZ 2 ???? (size ? metal ?) Best greetings !
    2. Hello ! I have 2 questions : 1/ On the picture, "KVM" is for "Kriegsverdienst-Medaille" or Kriegerverdienst-Medaille" ? 2/ I don't unterstand : only austrian attributions or all foreign attributions ?? Thank oyu !

    5. Hello Gentlemens ! I have received this one today : Saxon honor cross, with swords. But ribbon is not good : to me, it?s the ribbon of Saxon Altenburg ?Tapferkeitsmedaille?? Could this combination be possible (a recipient of these 2 awards ?), or is it a bad assemblage ?? Thanks and best greetings !

    8. Per ardua ad astra ("Through adversity to the Stars") is the motto of the Royal Air Force and other Commonwealth air forces such as the RAAF, RNZAF, and the former RCAF. It dates from 1912 and was used by the newly-formed Royal Flying Corps. (source : wikipedia) For german's states, Mecklemburg Schwerin house order device is "Per Aspera ad Astra" (="Through hardships to the stars") (house order of the Wendish crown), who is like-looking...
    9. Sorry, but you're talking about Saxony-weimar award for womens service in wartime (oval medal), but it is not this ribbon ?? I post a photo of Saxony Weimar award for women's service in wartime (OEK2418) :
    10. This one : not a common award : late creation (january 1918) OEK 2416, Saxony Weimar honor cross for homeland service...
    11. ... and an another one, with a nice pentagonal ribbon (from my father's collection) !
    12. Hello ! Here is mine, also cased... This award has been established on 1870 (as Tom says) and has been reinstitued on 1918, november 18th...
    13. I'd like to elaborate this answer : According to Dr Kliethmann The cross with swords is awarded for combattant. The cross without swords and with "Kriegsverdienst" inscription on back side is the cross for "Verdienste im Kriege in der Heimat" (War merit toward homeland) The cross without swords and without any inscription on the back side is known as cross "f?r sonstige Verdienste " (for general merit)
    14. And finaly, a small classic bar : 1/ Iron cross 2nd class, on combattant ribbon 2/ Silver bravery medal 3/ Honor cross 1914/18
