Luftwaffe fed winter cap
woodeye replied to woodeye's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Thank?s Eric and Paul. Does somebody maybe have the same cap or comparable one? -
I got the jacket without badge, only with the eagle and the sail airman badge. On the photo of the bearer was still to be recognised that he carried a reconnaissance plane front flight braces and ebend a DLR. The pilot's badge was not to be recognised in the picture, but I think he has done even later one, because the loops fit certainly.

Luftwaffe fed winter cap
woodeye replied to woodeye's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
I am also very careful there, but I have mine think that sometime all hair frees themselves of the leather. Since in front the cap already has a bald place which use by him or by fur moths was generated. However, could find up to now no moths or moth leftovers, only unfortunately, the cap loses quite a lot of hair and if one at it moves whole heads of hair would also fall out. I believe I will lay first of all in the deep cooler to destroy possible moths. Nevertheless, I am very happy to have got, finally, such a cap -

Has opened sometimes the flaps, you are in a very good state, only unfortunately, it loses many hair. Should one treat you? If so with what? Have, unfortunately, no experience with old fur. -

In German armoured trousers I have found sometimes a letter of a rusischen soldier. First I thought would be a dismissal letter from the Russian captivity. But it was written shortly after the war about a Russian soldier to his brother. In a SS jacket M43 I have found sometimes three bank notes once Alliertes occupying money of 1944 and two mark notes.

Luftwaffe Shoulder Boards
woodeye replied to juvatwad's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
I believe I must put sometimes a question: Do the shoulder flaps on the upper side have thrashings them look, as if they were carried? If so a clear impression of the button had to be to be seen, actually, around the buttonhole, I cannot recognise that, however, in your pictures. Indeed, there were also materials from less quality, this were fine reused materials, I know this, however, only with the not visible underside. -
Heer LAH Sleeveband
woodeye replied to woodeye's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Bob: I thank you for your execution. I am active, actually, rather in the area of the air force, but because I search sleeve tape already quite a while for a SS and I have no especially good knowledge to me with SS to sleeve tapes. If I had it here sometimes posted. As I had already written, I had the mentioned ones think with regard to the silver threads. There I am very carefully with sleeve tapes I have not bought it rather. By the way, I must say I like it quite well with GMI, with the air force area I get fast an answer and try also fast to answers if I am able to do it. Thank?s Bob ! -
Luftwaffe Assman observer
woodeye replied to norwest78's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
However, maybe the history was also another. His carried piece has been stolen at the end of the war the bearer by a souvenir hunter and to lives his piece which still lay during the war was damaged. So he has brought after the war his still left-over piece simply to a jeweller and now has hung it on a showcase or on his uniform brought from the war again. Actually, it should only point that there is probably many possibilities like your needle came about. What would still interest me whether the rivets were a piece with your Assmann so or they have also been repaired? Always thought one sees only one round deepening by the bolt? -
Luftwaffe Herman Goring tunics
woodeye replied to Wessel's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
I like your jacket really well. I find it OK, if the jacket again her Original stocks agrees, because most jackets were ridded themselves after the war of her stocks. Since after the war many jackets were further carried. Privately or in captivity. -
Jos: you has written, you know 10/12 different types of the summer eagle, does this belong to it vieleicht? I had this Alder sometimes a few years ago, do not hold, indeed, I him for original, therefore, I have also returned him. Or what do you mean? The material was copper or Tombak, but certainly no aluminium.
