I have a cased example Rick, will dig it out for scrutiny. I've been looking at that example on fleabay and some things I like, some I don't.

Yup, I always wonder about these alleged bidders and whether or not they even exist. BTW the real one and the document are pretty amazing pieces, but you've got to pony up some serious cash.

I agree Peter. And I would never obtain such a piece without some absolutely incontrovertible provenance.

There's something funny about the finish and the background on that bar up for opinions. And I do like that example on the bow, I have a Carola Medal with that bar on it.

Yup, I bid on that one, but the condition was such that I didn't go 'all in'.

The Germans were never consistent in following statutes regarding decorations. And many were thrifty and didn't want to pay to update their medal bars.

Agree, very desirable wide frame, but not at that loony price.
