Nuth al-Tahrir al-Kuwait / Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait A cased set. The outside, with card-stock slipcase.
-
And the interior, similar to the one shown above. I can find no indication of the manufacturer anywhere.

Nuth Al-Ma?rkat / Combat Medal A cased set. The color is actually a darker, more "Saudi" green than it appears here.

Fake Is this Soviet ODM real or not?
Ed_Haynes replied to usairforce's topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
I'd agree with everything Gerd said. While I'd like to hear from the more expert members of the community, my non-expert eyes see a number of areas that bother me. For something this uncommon (and expensive), you need to be 100% sure. -
Soviet Citations to Medics needed
Ed_Haynes replied to Riley1965's topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Nice project. Feel free to use anything from First Sergeant of the Guards Alexandra Vasilyevna Grebenschchikova, Sanitary Instructor of motor rifle company, 1st Motor Rifle Battalion, 29th Guards Order of Bogdan Khemelnitsky 1st Degree Motor Rifle Brigade of Unech, The Guards Tank Ural-Lvov Voluntary Corps: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2329 Let me know if you need better scans. -
I guess this is one of the values of limited linguistic ability among medal dealers and collectors. To most erstwhile fakers, Japanese looks like chicken-scratches so they pass on to easier-to-fake documents with larger markets. The day will probably come when enterprising Japanese crooks fill this vacant niche, but enjoy it until then!

Good question. I know of nothing. I suspect the Kurds are approaching the whole "independence" business with some care, especially if they have any awareness of what the Turkish response will be. PM box now has space, but it fills soooo quickly.

The Japanese is unavailable to me, sorry. (How very exotic, though.) They are receiving their -- well deserved -- honours, by the way, and "presenting" to no one. Not sure what you are trying to say.

Mongolia Medal for Unselfishness
Ed_Haynes replied to Ed_Haynes's topic in People's Republic Mongolia
Yes, Gor (good to see you here, cheers!). There is a lot of extra variability here. Bat will (we hope) be expanding on this in an anticipated SECOND EDITION. There are, however, some fakes, some dangerous, some not, of this particular award. -
In (partial) apology for another recent post, here are some awards, in a single image, of those who really made their revolutions. As Marx knew, and others didn't, it wouldn't be "soldiers and sailors" (or even "peasants") who would build the real revolution. For cross-reference (starting on the left, as is appropriate): Lidias Vasilovna Shapovalona -- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2735 Dankward Fehr -- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2455 Ivan Donev Stojanov -- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3778 Gombo Lodoykhuu-- oh, I haven't posted him yet, have I? Soviet Pattons Soviet Awards
Ed_Haynes replied to Hauptmann's topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Oy INDEED. Lovely image!! -
Yes, Gerd, Rick can be very persuasive, especially as a "package" with Mongolian awards. My arm has been twisted, ouch! The problem is that I sort of have a low-key "thing" for EK groups, and this was a nice place-holder showing some historically interesting service. Not proud of this phaleristic deviance, but I shall soon apologize for it, comrade!
