    2. O 16 -- The 2nd Festival of the Railway Workers
    3. O 14 -- The Young Champion of the Ulanbaatar Railroad
    4. Q 09 -- 35 Years of the Air Force Battushig lists this as a "Q", but I guess it could just as easily be a "C"?
    5. Not great archaeology, but nice views of Mongolia.
    6. Inspired by the interesting threads here, I have started a thread on the phaleristic aspects of this msision over at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14903.
    7. Dolf has shown a NIB friendship badge with the Soyuz 39 mission emblem. See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10220&st=26 A few more NIB Soyuz 39 related badges.
    8. Though also shown elsewhere: Q 11 -- The Heroes of Space -- Class Brothers For joint Soviet-Mongol spape flights. Battushig lists this as an "airline" badge. A whopping 63 mm.
    9. Echoing the very interesting threads over on the "miscellaneous communist" sub-forum, I thoiught I'd add a focused post on badges for the Soviet-Mongol Soyuz 39 flight. For background information, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soyuz_39 http://www.spacefacts.de/mission/english/soyuz-39.htm The Mongolian cosmonaut was D. Gurragchaa and his backup was M. Ganzorig. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhugderdemidiyn_Gurragcha http://www.spacefacts.de/bios/internationa...gderdemidin.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maidarzhavyn_Ganzorig http://www.spacefacts.de/bios/internationa...aidarzhavin.htm I don't have and can't show the Mongolian cosmonaut badge, A5, (only three were ever manufactured) or the 5th anniversary pin, Q12. Can anyone add these?
    10. Yep, "710 CT. BALKISHAN, I.A.F.". An odd rank, support role (what the Brits used to call a "follower"), and as single-named, probably low caste status. A very off rank on which I am drawing a total blank. A nice one, 100% OK. Shall bounce it off a friend who knows everything IAF.
    11. Looks good to me, matches on the service number to the MIC card (4408). These are, to my knowledge, not faked. Maybe the last thing for which this is true? I would guess Acting Battery QM Sgt. Getting the MICs will tell you more.
    12. This practice is quite common, as mounted medals are worn often and the issuing process drags. Looks like the havildar is wearing the Sainya Seva Medal, High Altitude Service Medal, 50th Independnece Anniversary Medal, and the 9-Year Service Medal.
    13. Samar Seva Star was issued to all branches. We have never been able to locate solid service-specific numbers. What is the full naming? "CT" rings no bells and seems quite odd. Can you actually post a scan of the naming?
    14. Lovely information and images on this thread (as elsewhere). Thanks, all!
    15. Graf Klenau did some dubious stuff, for sure. But I bet someone bought it. But when would a "Sammler" find the "real thing"? Like those tin-can VC copies that infest e$cam? Back on topic, I was TOLD that most of his Soviet stuff was good, except the major exceptions like the K3rd pentagonal acid-trip. But a DM 200 Red Star! Compares to: -- Bavaria, Medaille f?r die Niederschlagung des Pf?lzer Aufstandes, 1849 -- Brazil, O Southern Cross, officer -- Germany, Visit of Kaiser Wilhelm II to Turkey, 1899 -- Frankfurt, 15 Years Service Cross -- Hannover, Waterloo Medal -- Indonesia, Gerilya Order, 1st class set -- Italy, Silver Bravery Medal, 1849 -- Meck-Schwerin, Kriegsdenkm?nze, 1848-49 etc.
    16. Some place, I have an image of the Klenau-special K3rd on pentagonal suspension. They were around in the mid-1970s, I know, and 100% Klenau-made. I remember Dr. Kleitmann pointing one out to me at my first OMSA convention -- did I just date myself? -- and laughing that someone would probably buy such rubbish.
