Inside. "Mr.Jamtsaa JANTSAN is a member of the Parliament (State Great Khural) of the Mongolian People's Repbulic and is elected from the electoral district No. 42 of Choibalsan (province center) of the third parliament (State Great Khural) of the Mongolian People's Republic. "The Chairman of the Presidium of the State Great Khural of MPR, J.Sambuu "The Secretary of the Presidium of the State Great Khural of MPR "July 8th, 1957" As the document is from 1957, does it match the badge?

Not quite . . . for WWII, it would be worn on the War Medal (never on a star), rarely on the Defence Medal, failing that just free on the tunic (a dumb idea). They are also listed in the other gazettes (e.g., Gazette of India), especially later in the war (same as WWI). Another eye-candy MiD group: That to Subadar Mohd. Sher, IDSM, 3/1st Punjab Regiment. (As he was a Muslim, and likely went to Pakistan after 1947, the WWII medals are unnamed, so there is no absolute certainty that these are HIS medals, but these are his qualifications. Only the IDSM is named, alas. This is why Indian WWII groups are better than the Pakistani ones!) See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2331&st=19

Mongolia DATE / SERIAL NUMBER CHECK-IN THREAD
Ed_Haynes replied to Bob's topic in People's Republic Mongolia
A few more data points: Sukhbaatar - 1412 - 2 Dec 1980 Red Banner of Labor - 4452 - 28 Jan 1975 Medal of Combat - 5514 - 20 August 1951 Medal of Labor - 1554 - 6 July 1991 (an odd range for type 2.2.1) More to come. -
Complete agreement, Jan. I just got hers, her husband's, and another (unrelated) group. The last two are requiring some research consultation with UB to sort out. The time is coming to move beyond types and into research. All the best - Ed

What do you have that's now worthless?!
Ed_Haynes replied to Luftmensch's topic in United States of America
It will take a lot of work customising, but it has to be done. -
And, finally, the document interior for her Medal "70 Years of the Mongolian People's Revolution" (A 55), dated 26 June 1991.
-
-
The document interior for her Medal "60 Years of the Armed Forces of the MPR" (A 54), issued 20 July 1981.
-
The document interior for her Medal "60 Years of the Mongolian People's Revolution" (A 53), awarded 9 September 1981.
-
The document interior for her Medal "30th Anniversary of the Victory over Militaristic Japan" (A 50), issued 3 September 1975.
-
The document interior for her Medal "50 Years of the Mongolian People's Army" (A 47), 12 March 1971.
-
The document for her Medal "We Won" (A 41), #02826, 6 July 1946. (Unfortunately, the medal with the group -- and it came thus from the family -- doesn't match: 39142.)

A nice little documented group to Galsan Altangerel (a woman). I'm posting the group to her husband (Byamba Gezegt) over at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14479.

If real, rare. This is covered in the correct thread. I shall merge the three fragmented threads. Before posting, it is always good to look for previous discussion. It is probably here already.

Ed_Haynes replied to Luftmensch's topic in United States of America
Ed Maier has posted his draft letter over at the OMSA website and coupled his letter, appropriately, with a visit to his member of congress' local office. See: http://www.omsa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1356 FYI and action. -

Thanks, Leigh. Welcome! -
And some of the KKK and other white supremicist hate-sites will probably have it too. You'll probably find some Nazi stuff there too.
