    1. OK, OK, these aren't for killing fascists and, therefore, lack some of the excited interest of the military awards! But I maintain that they, too, are an important part of the everyday, pragmatic, "normal" reality of the CCCP. A pair to Yury Vol'vin: Order of Labor Glory, 2nd class - 42440 Order of Labor Glory, 3rd class, var. 2 - 356334
    2. Document 2, part 2 - probably too late to research this group (at present)
    3. A pair: Lekadia Agatovna Nadrushliankaya 1- Order of the Red Banner of Labor, t 6 v 2 - 420184 2- Order of the Badge of Honor, t 4 v 2 - 862046
    4. Yes, current theory is that it is a reissue. Not marked as a duplicate, but you are correct on the serial number range. The Research Master has my plea before him. Best guess is something to do with military supply.
    5. Yes, that'll bleach out the document in a year or so. (Not to mention the ribbons!) Sunlight is evil!!
    6. Document, the second interesting part. Research, so far, has been silent. Hopes remain alive. It is early enough that there may be some hope.
    7. Document, the first interesting part (no photo!) -- can someone help with full name please:
    8. Here's a nice trio: Nikolai Anikee 1- Order of the Red Banner of Labor, type 3, variety 1 - 12167 2- Order of the Badge of Honor, type 3, variety 1 - 64744 3- [a medal we all know but whose Name I Shall Not Name, so as to forestall unGentlemanly behavior], type 2, variety 4 - unnumbred
    9. And it isn't the normal way of marking a duplicate award (see McDaniel and Schmitt, pp. 377-84). Very unusual. And, to my novice eyes, a cause for concern. Am I right in feeling that way?
    10. Makes me wonder if his mystery final medal is Czech, but who knows . . . ?? Doesn't match anything I can find.
    11. Oops, somehow I missed your question. Sorry. The answer is easy: blank. Whazzat mean?? Unless someone helpes me with the badges, I shall post each, individually . . .
    12. No problem at all. In fact, I like the way that our conversational enthusiasm overlaps and interwines. Yes, that is it. While there is MUCH variability on the proper ribbon. This one is, I think incorrect, but seems to have been more popular among Soviet recipients. It was this medal -- and some of the higher trinkets too -- that attracted my attention. While my "head" tells me "fake", my "heart" wants it otherwise. There is a certain plausibility to the group, but only if he was a fairly senior KGB border type (and, therefore, not a candidate for easy research -- though I have tried, and come up empty -- it remains on my "open research" list with The Master).
    13. And another one mounted, this one halal, from the Kravchenko group, see: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6207 Type 4, 537880
    14. And another one, mounted, from my "group-that-probably-isn't-a-group". I think of it as a set of singles stuck together. (The price was low anyway.) Type 4, 440621 See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2456
    15. Even more worn, but even more special. From the Lavrinovich group: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2326 RSFSR Red Banner, type 1, 10825 (matching-numbered screw-plate, though repaired [too]). (Hard to see the number hiding up there. My Epson 1660 does not like things with long posts. Need to drill a hole in the glass plate. )
    16. As Gerd has starded a thread on that "other" Red Banner, let me bump this one in an effort to encourage others to be added here. Let me throw in a type 2, variety 2, 4935 Awarded to Maria Yakovlevna Oprishko teacher of Bobritskaya Incomplete Secondary School, Romny District, Sumy Region, Ukranian SSR. Awarded 1 June 1939, "For prominent successes in school and Soviet education of children in rural schools, for outstanding organization of education, and active participation in village social life". See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2732
    17. My latest, the one from the Lomtatidze group http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6830 Type 2, variety 2 - 61232 It has suffered through some extensive -- and clumsy -- repairs, I fear. Still, I await the research.
    18. Nice thread. I like this one too. Will add a few. My first, just a solo, undocumented, and research awaits (yes, I feel I have the duty to TRY to research even single RBs! -- though as a low priority). Type 4, 381808.
    19. Pretty things, pretty things. (At least you have outgrown that Luft Waffle stuff )
    20. Please, keep it up. I always enjoy learning things, seing new items.
