      I took mine in Red Square, just near Red Square and Lenin's Tomb (to the left) and the Eternal Flame (to the right) in summer 2006.

      Absolutely! We (all) need to rememeber that the awards that really matter are those awarded to those who do the most important tasks for the nation. Often (usually?) these are NOT the people in uniform. (Despite the forum's title.)

      An interesting (early-ish) one that came in the stack of challenging documents that just moved in.

      Thanks "Slava". Part of this great stack of family documents I have just received. Think this is the same as the young man in some of the photos I have posted elsewhere. Guess we all age, eh?

      While many of my recent questions languish, I'll try one more. A document. What is it?

      Yes (summer 2006).

      The one on the right (the maroon one) is new, the other (which has been shown before) is for comparison. The maroon box is lined in rich maroon velvet (-like material). The badge is screwback, by "З. H. Б. КOВHИЦA", and a "III" aboive and is numbered "32898" at the bottom. Someday, some way, we may figure these out?

      It is amazing how these tend to cluster. All Pr?wema screwbacks.

      And this one has a pencil scribble on the reverse, tweaked to make it as "legible" as I can. All I can discern is the date of 12 March 1920 (?).
