that's the overview. this thing is probably in near mint condition. if you need to see another angle let me know. i will be busy trying to take a halfway decent pic of the wavy damascus blade.
this has been stored away for many years. i will post a few pics; then you guys can ask for particular views and tell me a bit about it. original chamois cover?
that onyx ek is just swell! if one were to own just a single top example of this award, this would be IT. runner up would be a glass-core specimen. there was a jeweler from dresden who made that type, if i recall correctly. any chance of a view of the case, joe? please?
unfortunately this particular case is devoid of any exterior markings. the only markings are on the inside of the lid plus a few numerals scribbled with a pencil on the underside of the interior piece. again, thank you for the info; much appreciated!
aha! the old switcheroo! well, i guess if anyone is looking for a cuban case...i just might have one for trade towards a comparable item! p.s. thank you very much, 922F!
hey, i happen to have an EK1 (surprise!) with the words, "festung verdun 1916 alois horwitz" scratched on the back. last name sound kinda jewish? anybody wanna see it?
hiya chet, i will start with the first one. there are a few things right off of the bat. first is the finish on the reverse--it looks like a cast piece.the soldering job around the hinge and catch is very sloppily done. then there's the pin itself, which looks extremely suspicious. i will post an example that i have tomorrow when i have better light so you can compare.
