    3. Hi guys, here is one nice Excellence badge I got a few days ago, Otlichnik of the Civil Aviation. A pity no document with it, but the badge is very nice.
    4. Very nice! Most time the whole left end has no enamel! Great to see one complete!
    5. Both documents say the same, except that the second one is missing the mention of the strange "Decree for spiritual stimulation"
    6. DECREE 242 The State Council of Peoples Republic Bulgaria, on article 93 pt. 24 from the Constitution and article 18 from the Decree for spiritual stimulation in Peoples Republic Bulgaria Makes the decree: Honours the title Hero of the Socialist Labour the comrade Yordan Iliel Penov from the town of Mihaylovgrad, for active participation in the struggle against the fascism and the capitalism and for the building of socialism and in relation to his 80 birthday. Sofia, 23 January 1985 Signed/sealed
    7. 1975 is nothing I believe. No anniversary of the Spanish war, no Party congress, nothing special or close to special about that year comes to my mind, just the 30 years from the end of WW2.
    8. That's a Bulgarian soldier, famous for being the least decorated one I'm very glad you like it, now in the line under the photos is added a tiny "Translation" link, the automatic translation is not the best, but gives a basic idea about the text.
    9. Август Кабакчиев Unfortunately there is nothing more to find. This photo is from a small article in an online army magazine, for the occasion of his 90 birthday. Nothing new in there, only the tiny photo. In a week or two I may be visiting the National library, will see if they have something there.
    10. Probably most viewers will have difficulties with the language, but fortunately the site is well structured into categories. For easier navigation, here they are: general military category: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=19 WW1: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=210 WW2: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=211 aviation: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=245 tanks: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=285 artillery: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=244 navy: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=246 commanders: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=249 events: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/?cat=14 Also on the top right side of the page the photos are sorted by year/period.
    11. It is a badge for 10 years of the MVR unit 72620, which was also known as Specialized Operative Militia Unit at the Sopfia City Bureau of MVR /later it became Specialized Counter-terrorism Squad./
    12. Yes, I am sure it is the same! Same writing and both from May 1979. Someone got busy for a while filling such documents
    13. Hi guys, can you please tell me about this badge, what is its meaning and when was it used? Thanks!
    14. The unknown are: #13 National Committee for Bulgarian-Soviet Friendship. Honorary Diploma. For Honorary Golden Badge. #14 is from the Central Committee of the fighters against Fashism and Capitalism. Award document for the Honorary badge of the Committee 1923-1944. The document is specially made for awarding on the occasion of birthdays, anniversaries. But in the empty field is not written his age, his anniversary /50th... 60th... 70th.../, only is written that it is a Round anniversary. Don't know the English word, but the meaning is, it is not 52 years or 67 years, but 60 or 50 or 70. excuse my language skills The last one is from the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Professional Unions. He was awarded with the jubilee medal "80 years revolutionary professional union movement in Bulgaria".
    15. Hi Rick, the last one is some strange representative of the socialist economy system CONTRACT for consigning /giving/ a socialistic property object for management and... what will be the proper word, take care about something, care about it...
    16. Hi guys, this is a Bulgarian part of the forum, so I thought this link has to be shown here, too. As you have interest about Bulgaria, this really is a must-see site! The country's history is written shorter or longer on Wikipedia and other sites, but this here is a rich online picture archive, showing images of the people and the country the way it was in times gone. Including the socialist period. The author uses several archives and private collections as sources, so there are lots of interesting things to see! And the best part is, it is a work in progress, photos are added daily, so visit again next week and there'll be more! The link: http://www.lostbulgaria.com/

    18. The DKMS thing is International Youth Relay-Race "Memory". The last document is from the USSR. The ink stamp consists of the USSR State Emblem in the middle and in the circle Army Unit...number... It is certificate for 1st Class Specialist in the armed Forces of the USSR /at least I understand it this way from the document/. And that Class is given to the general by an army unit commander from the soviet Army - by order the Commander of Army Unit 42202, Colonel Gavrilov.
