Hi, Well, I never picture myself owning a photo like this one, when you have in mind that prices they are usually reaching on e-bay or other similar sites. But here I am with this (to me) great picture of a bunch of sailors from 4. Kompagnie - II Torpedo Division. There are four Navy Lugers being held and several visible first model holsters attached to stocks. The picture was taken in 1915 and mailed at Wilhelmhaven on December 29th of that same year to a certain Georg Müller Kauffmann (don't know if the last noun is his family name or his profession).However, I would love to know what the rest of the writing in the back says, as I'm not able to decifer it. Can anyone help me here? Thanks in advance. Douglas.

Hi, Few days ago, some of you helped me with a letter found in a group of an Oldenburger WWI veteran. Now, as I had promised, here is the whole set. It comprises his Militarpass, EKII certificate (issued in 1916), Wound Badge in Black (issued in 25.08.1918), Kyffhauserbund medal (issued on 22.02.1922) and the above mentioned letter regarding an hypothetical Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross 2nd. Class (24.05.1922). In addition the group also has his medal bar. However, I need your help as I'm struggling with his Militarpass, not to avail. I could read that he served between 1896-1898 (what entitled him for the Centennial Medaille) e some time later. He was called again during WWI and served until the end of war. Some notes mention the light machine gun MG 08/15. But I would like to have a more precise account of his career. I found his name and family on genealogy.net, but there is no entry about his date of death ( http://www.ortsfamilienbuecher.de/famreport.php?ofb=helgoland&ID=I15019&nachname=D%E4HN&lang=de ). Hi, This documment is part of a WWI veteran documments group that i recently added to my collectio. As far as my limited knowledge of German language goes, it is a certificate issued by the military authority in Oldenburg saying that: - Decorations ceased after Grand Duke abdication in 1918 - As a native of Oldenburg that was awarded with the Prussian EKII during the war, he was also entitled to be awarded with the Oldenburg Friedrich August Kreuz 2nd Class. - However, the medal itself could not be delivered as the stocks run out. Is this correct? As I said this is part of a nice little medal and documment group that I intend to post here. It also came with his Militarpass, and I definitively will need help to translate.
