Or maybe I'm wrong. Does the Medal for People's Merit (Medalja Zasluga Za Narod ) has Latin and Cyrillic versions? See : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=17913

Can someone post side by side two Orders of Bravery : one Yugoslavian ZIN (numbered) with one Yugoslavian IKOM (numbered)? I'm not sure how to differentiate them.

Yugoslavia Club Host for Yugo Forum
Bryan replied to Nick's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Thank you guys for the warm words! I'll do my best to keep this sub-forum on the top sections of the ?Soviet & Communist Era Militaria & Awards" forum. I?d like to say a special thank you to our Chairman Nick who created this sub-forum few months ago. It?s great to have a special place to speak about Yugoslavian medals and orders. -
What an impressive group! The foreign orders are yummy as well! I know that those are not the most impressive medals in that group, but have you guys ever seen a group with Odessa, Sevastopol and Belgrad medals? So Christian is this one another bargain in your opinions. No HSU, no Lenins in that group for 175 K ... ?

No it's not enamel. It is painted. Those are the Franch Adrian helmet pattern that were used during WWI by the tsarist army. After that the Soviet replaced the Romanov crest for a Soviet star like this. The helmet from Sergey seems to have been repainted. Normally those are not shiny like this one.

Yugoslavia Yugoslavia is a GMIC-section
Bryan replied to Christian Zulus's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
I think we need an active moderator on the Yugoslavian board to make some cleaning of the double posting and so on. If we had an active moderator that could make some cleaning on this section, that would be very nice! -

Спасибо Сергей! Мне нравятся твои каски. I like the SSh-40 model from 1944 with cloth liner. It looks great. Are the SSh-36 ground dug? Here is an interesting thread on Soviet helmets : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5660

Hi Paul, no problem with the names! SSh-39 are in my opinion easier to find than WWII SSh-40. The SSh-39 model was made I think from 1939 until 1943 and the SSh-40 model was made from 1940 until the 1960's. Unfortunately many post-war SSh40 have altered stamps on the inside to make them pass as WWII pieces. The thing is that the early post-war SSh-40 helmets are sometimes not distinguishable from WWII SSh-40 helmets. I am not really up to date with the prices. I bought mine few years ago. Post-war helmets from the 1940?s can be found for $50, WWII Ssh-40 I guess they should be around $200-$250 and SSh39 $300 and more. As I said, you may find some cheaper than that or much more expensive. I don?t know many dealers who sell Soviet helmets. Here are some that you migh already know, which are normally quite expensive. http://collectrussia.com/showcat.htm?cat=HEADGEAR http://www.aboutww2militaria.com/

Paul the Soviet M43 model doesn't exist. These are called : The WWII helmet are SSh-36 SSh-39 SSh-40 SSh-36[ SSh-39 SSh-40 An here is the difference between SSh-39 and SSh-40 from Robert W. Clawson book RUSSIAN HELMETS: From Kaska to Stalshlyem 1916-2001

RRA227 I cannot really see the star on your SSh-36, but it doesn't look period made. However the helmet seems really nice for the price you paid!

Yugoslavia Order of the National Hero
Bryan replied to Bob's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
It's interesting to know that the Yugoslavian Heroes had the same advantages as the Heroes in the Soviet Union. I don't know if they also had a better appartment in the city like their Soviet counterpart. Thanks again and please feel free to show us the rest of your collection if you haven't had the chance. -

Wow! Congratulations! You are very lucky to own such a beautiful award in your collection. May I ask you what is the paper work on the left of the picture. I am also curious to know at what time was your Hero awarded. Thanks again for sharing some pictures from your collection!
