    1. Yes it's true, I would love to have a serial number on that medal bar, so I could see what's the story behind this group is! By the way Eric, do you plan to research your little group with the Vienna medal? If you ever get tired of your nice little group, please keep me in mind!
    2. After the discussion on the restoration medal thread, please show your medals and orders that were apparently customised by the recipient. I have seen many orders that were converted from screwback to hanger to pinback or vice versa. Please show your odd medals in this thread. I'll start with some orders I have in my collection that I have shown in other threads. Pinback conversion "Sheriff conversion" The order was apparently squeezed on the tips of the star rays with pliers, creating some kind of "Sheriff badge". So these are my only odd order. Please show yours!!!
    3. Sehr sch?n Jens! I like your medal bar very much!

    6. I was offered this group for sale from someone I bought a Soviet medal group, but I will not buy it. If someone interested I can contact the seller. It seems to be a great group. http://www.soldatentruhe.com/sukhanov/index.htm
    7. Hello Charles, I can't help you with the serial number, but I can tell you that because your order shows 5 torches on the Yugoslavian Coat of Arms it means this is a pre-1963 order. "In 1963 the name of the state was changed to Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, just as all the people's republics forming it were renamed Socialist republics. Mainly due to the question of the Bosnian Muslims not being represented in the five torches representing the five Yugoslav nations, the number of the torches was increased to six, with a new meaning, which was the number of the constituent republics." 9. What is your favorite Yugoslavian medal or order in your collection? Here is my favorite Yugoslavian order in my collection. I really like the design of the Partisan stars! Please show your favorite yougoslavian medal or order?
    10. Very nice! It's good that you got the earlier 5 torches version.
    11. New book on Bulgarian badges. It's not only on the communist period. http://www.new.shopbulgaria.com/books-5003...rence-book.html
    12. I was 9 years old when the Wall came down, so I have no experience with Soviet veterans to say. However, I'm not sure many people on the forum had such experience. I'm also anxious to here your story.
    13. Here is a bigger scan. I didn't know it was an original unissued piece. I thought it was a museum copy.
    14. Luckily I bought medals from him 1 day before it closed. I wonder what he is going to do with the medals in his inventory? Very sad news for us!
    15. Funny, I was for the first time in Moscow in 2003 as well and I only had Russian rubles on me. I never used a single dollar. By the way, at the ATM machines you can choose between RR or $ when you want take some cash. Maybe you can take Euros as well from the ATM machines.
    16. Christian, you have a very interesting group! My friend you need to practice your photography skills! I wouldn't mind travelling to Vienna to give you a small course.
    17. Christian, there is no data. It's only written : "Order of the National Front - numbered" Starting price : $200
    18. As a Canadian, I do not have any US dollars or Euros while travelling. I always took Russian rubles at the ATM machines without any problem when I was in Russia. I don't know why you should exchange your UK pounds for US dollars while travelling to Russia. We are not in the 1990's anymore.
    19. I have never heard of that order before? It's on eBay right now.
