    1. Did you guys see this picture at the upcoming Hermann Historica auction? Lot No. 6159 Geschenkfoto des Bahnhofsvorstehers 1.Klasse Kr?ger im Berliner Hauptbahnhof. Uniformbrustbild mit angelegten Ordensdekorationen (21 Orden). Im vergoldeten Stellrahmen mit geschliffener Glasscheibe. 14,5 x 25 cm. [attachmentid=33197] Mr. Kr?ger must have run a tight shift at the main train station in Berlin. Certainly a very popular travel destination those days.
    2. Sometimes I wish they would still do that. My bar would be infinitifly long. Instead, one gets millions of frequent flyer miles. Not as pretty as medals.
    3. I believe most of them were made durng the late 18th and early 19th century. This one looks to me like 1820-1830th. Interesting is the needle devise for easier wearing. They new that the piece had to be handed on from abbess to abbes over time.
    4. Maybe something completely new. I don't collect them, but am always intrigued by the craftsmanship. Those "order" decorations of those monasteries. Mostly the abbess would wear a decoration and maybe one other. Needless to say that those decorations are extremly rare. [attachmentid=33137] This is an example of the monastery in Visbec [attachmentid=33138]
    5. Very nice indeed. The swords on ring as well as those regular ones were actually applied seperatly. Yet, this all happend before the gilding process. I examined the piece and liked it very much. I hope to get the new Lippe Book rather soon. Maybe it will bring some light into this matter.
    6. Swords on ring were issued, yet rather late. The piece has the correct swords on ring. Non doubt. The swords through the middle are old as well, but from different manufacturer. Very interesting in my opinion.
    7. Claudio, you are too fast, while I am still trying to find that pin back cross picture all is posted already. No, I do not own this one, but was always courious about this group. Especially because of the officers cross, which can be found at: Lippe Officer Cross Swords and Swords on Ring
    8. I hate to put this one in here, too, but have always been wondering if an identification would be possible: [attachmentid=33035]
    9. Joe, it is the old Orden Militaria Magazin of the BDOS. I just got my copy from Helmut Weitze.
    10. Very nice indeed. Do you guys have access to the old OMM magazines. I finally got number 98 including an article about those combatant medals. Dr. Sauerwald claims there, that those having the round arms where coined in Paris in 1814, which explains there is none 1815, while the others are coind in Berlin later. P.S.: Congrats to the ribbon. Those are extremely hard to find
    11. Believe me, I have no idea. This one belonged to our friend Tony before I traded it with him. Just another riddle.
    12. This one is special: [attachmentid=32760][attachmentid=32759] Here a detail of the push button to open the case. Some blue semi precisious stone: [attachmentid=32761]
    13. ...and now switching to Anhalt: [attachmentid=32755][attachmentid=32756]
    14. ...and here the case for the Prussian PlM for NCO's or also for the Merit Crosses: [attachmentid=32753] [attachmentid=32754]
    15. I have been looking for this image for several month now. Got Schwarzburg? Yes indeed: [attachmentid=32752]
    16. This group is certainyl outstanding. It surfaced in Berlin at a antik reseller. Unfortunately a silver cigar chest some more badges were not bought by this guy due to monetary restrains. These pieces were then unfortunatelly sold somewhere else. what a shame. Yet, we are all lucky, that this did not completely vanish. This one has some true historical importance.
    17. It says: Erste Klasse 1841 von Steuber, Kurfuerstlich hessischer Staatsminister des Aeusseren
    18. I had already shown this one, but it fits into this thread as well:
    19. If you look closely, you will see a black spot on the ribbon. This and other hints proof that there was a medal, rather a cross on that position.
    20. No, this is the correct lilac eagle with smooth arms. Very nice indeed.
    21. ...and the good old case to the Junker made Pilots badge: [attachmentid=32140][attachmentid=32141]
    22. Something exotic - Red Eagle Order 2nd Class with oak leaf for the fist type with the eagle painting without hohenzollern shield: [attachmentid=32137] [attachmentid=32138]
    23. Believe me, I have been bugging him several times per email and by phone, but there is nothing else. His mother kept those few things in the ususal box. after passing away in a retirement home this was all thats is left. The usual. Lets face it. How can still read Suetterlin and make sense of those old documents. While living in Germany and advertising in the local newspapers all paper was always destroyed because of this. I was only able to get document with a pre 1918 medal bar ones. A very sad fact.
