      Here's my undocumented Order for Service to the Motherland, 3rd Class. I'll start looking for a 2nd class later on. I can only dream of having a 2nd Class as so few were awarded not to mention the 13 first class that werte awarded. Doc

      Chuck, First I love the uniform!! As for the translation with my limited knowledge which is zero I used the Cyrillic Alphabet Gerd pinned to this forum and the translation came out like this: Khalikhyn Goli. That's letter for letter. Is it an accurate translation? Doc

      Dan, Thank You !! I learned of a way to do displays like that one at another forum. He took poster frames and made very nice displays with his medals, badges and documents mounted. However it's not UV protected glass. The display you posted looks like he used UV protected glass. Doc

      Thanks guys!!! I have a spot that is protected from sunlight. This was an experiment. I had an extra certificate frame( I awarded medals to Army JROTC Cadets last night) I always have red and yellow felt on hand and I happened to have two Caucasus medals. And here's the results. I like it!! Doc

      I buy my Polish ODMs from Professor Wesoloski. He has the Merit Cross with swords 1st-3rd Class reserved for me. I'll buy them on the 1st and this display case will be complete. In 4 months I'll have all 5 classes of the Order of Virtuti Militari. Doc
