I have a very nice uniform of a DDR Navy Captain of the Medical Service. It was definately worn. There are laundry tags on the shirt jacket and pants. What Foreign awards would he possibly receive. USSR? Warsaw Pact countries? The single badge on the side with the fouragerre was on the uniform. The three badges on the other side were put on by me. They are all I have. I only have a 30 Year Long Service Police Medal. Doc

No, at least not when I was in. You still had to have your coninuing education up to date. I'm almost sure that as an E-6 I wasn't eligible for the next (final) level. Doc

Hi Paul, It's the Sr. Medical Technician Badge. The next one up is Chief/Master (I can't remember which until I wake up) Medical Technician Badge. It has a wreath around the star. I would have to be an E-7 or higher for that. Doc

An M55 Greatcoat. it now has the Medical service emblem on the collar tabs and a set of "rough looking" shoulderboards for this coat. Doc

Thanks guys!!! I knew that some day I would eventually get them. They were in two different lots with three additional campaign medals in each lot. The lots cost me $125 each. Now all I need is to get the award documents which I have seen at reasonable prices from time to time. Doc

Thank God for FJP Auctions!!! In two different lots of four Soviet Campaign medals were Defense of Odessa and in the other the Defense of Sevastopol medals. They were the last two medals I needed to complete my Campaign Medal collection. I still need the award documents for them. But, right now I am VERY happy!!! So, Here's the Defense of Odessa & Defense of Sevastopol. Doc

Hey francois, I love Bavarian ODMs I have an MvK 4th Class. I was looking at prices and availablity. Believe me I would love to collect Bavaria. Who knows at the OMSDA Convention I may find a nice Bavarian medal and no Baden. We'll see... Doc

Well I've settled on Baden and a little Lippe. I'll have to wait until September because I have to book my flight and pay my registration fee for the OMSA Convention in August. I hope to find one there. I member has also showed my a three place Baden I like. Maybe I can buy it next month. Question: Are there any books that cover Baden ODMs in them? I'll also, have to ask all of you for advice until I get a better understanding of the medals. Doc

I appreciate everyones input. After some thought I have settled on Baden with a little Lippe on the side. Now to find a nice 3 or 4 place Baden medal bar to start my collection... I was really tempted with Prussian. But, the number of fakes out there would surely burn me. Doc
