Dan, That is a good start on polish ODMs. Your Order of Polonia Restituta is the 5th Class (Member Class) Take a look at my Polish collection here: http://community.webshots.com/user/riley1965 Prices are rising on Polish ODMs. Inspite of this, I'll have a complete Order of Polonia Restituta (I need the Grand Cross which I should have in September) and I have the 3rd & 4th Class of the Order of Virtuti Militari and will have the 1st, 2nd and 5th by the end of the year. Enjoy your Polish collection!!! Doc

Here's my first of what will be a complete set of Poland's Cross of Valor. Fig 97b in Z. Wesoloski's book on Polish ODMs. Cross of Valor 1920. Made by Spimks and Son, Ltd. This version authorized by the Polish Government in the West re-adopting the 1920 on the bottom arm of the cross. The Polish Navy awarded 1,056 crosses and the Air Force awrded 3,122 crosses. There is no data available for the Polish Army and Merchant Marine. The cross is 46mm. Doc

Soviet Soviet decoration research
Riley1965 replied to Paul C's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Paul, First WELCOME to the world of researching ODMs!!! As for Soviet Orders and Medals being researched, a lot depends on the type of Order or Medal and the year. For example, in 1985 a large number of the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class were awarded just for long service. These may not have a lot of research potential. Yet, An Order of the Red Banner or a WWII Order of the red Star may be good candidates for research. I'll let others pick up this topic for further information. All the Best, Doc -
Dolf, Thanks for the Information!!! Doc
