..it depends on the type of medal, mostly are those medals Austro-Hungarian made (for example Golden Bravery medals made instead of gold from bronze) or the post1918 hungarian made medals...

Austria-Hungary Cased Honour Medal for 40 years Faithful Service
Iver replied to Iver's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
Hi Enzo... I must say, I don´t have seen many cases for this medal... Maybe someone else has got one? Maybe "award" case with inscription on the lid (with name of the medal) or with A-H double headed eagle? -

Austria-Hungary Help with Austro-Hungarian etui
Iver replied to marrauder's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
I like the one from Bratislava too (I am from Slovakia) I think there was no "original" box for bravery medals in which the medal was awarded... it was awarded "in field", so the boxes that are occasionally to see are bought later or were given as a gift (with a dedication on the lid) - IMHO... -

Austria-Hungary Help with Austro-Hungarian etui

..this is some kind of "universal" box made from cardboard. In such boxes you can see Jubilee crosses 1908, but also Jubilee medals 1898, bravery medals, I have also seen Mobilisation cross in it... In some of the cases you can also find name of the firm (see photo from my collection), but in some cases from Maurerer there is also "Jubiläums Kreuz" (see photo - from internet)... -

Austria-Hungary Kaiser Franz Joseph & the Order of Saint George (Russia)
Iver replied to Jaybo's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
...as Viktor wrote, emperor Franz Joseph I. was awarded the St. George cross for the battle of Gyor in 1849, but as far as I know, he was wearing it because it was the only decoration he was awarded for his bravery (as an army-leader) and not as an emperor and king.... -
Can someone erite me something more about this order? A friend is selling it, so if its possible also a fair price for it? thanks... Iver
