    1. Hi Erik, Looking forward towards the chat and the beer afterwards Mayby Bernd will join us and he could mayby also bring a white falcon bar with him (iff he has one = hint, hint? ) Ah yes, i have written it down that in het Paleis "Loo" there whould also be a white falcon, higher grade (a Star) => should be made by Wolfers / Brussels/ Any chance of getting me pictures of that one => both front and reverse? I am intereste din that one to see this Wolfers product as it does come near the Black eagle from King Leop II i have written about. Any other imperial friends who wants to comment on the present 5 row medal bar? Cordial greetings,
    2. Hi Doc, Somtimes a jungle it is but do not let you be lead by the grades from these decorations, there is for certain a very large difference. As you said it yourself : officers = Orders, for example: * Milit?rverdienstorden 1 e class * Milit?rverdienstorden 2 e class * Milit?rverdienstorden 3 e class * Milit?rverdienstorden 4 e class non commisioned + soldiers = the assimilated crosses towards a certain order, in this case: * Milit?rverdienstkreuz 1 e class * Milit?rverdienstkreuz 2 e class * Milit?rverdienstkreuz 3 e class (and all the attachements, swords, crown, different ribbons, etc ... etc ....), but also note that the above ranking only does apply for lets say the WWI area, as many times the orders changed either appearance, medals or crosses where added, etc ... All very interesting but a real jungle for sure
    3. Hi Erik, OK, will do => so you can then feel the bar (and im pretty sure that the DRK one is the one wich does gets your attention !! Cordial greetings,
    4. Hello, Thank you for the hints and info. Wich of the shown awards on this bar would show up on the rank lists? I have been searching a bit and the last one, the DRK-Ehrenzeichen 3th model was apparently only awarded between 1937-1939. The shown cross is the 2 nd. class. Would this one appear for example in a Rangliste? Cordial greetings + interested to hear all opinions, etc ...
    5. Hello, I did follow the good advice from RIcky and grabbed my chance when this one popped up. At first nothing shaking did happen and then suddenly a message from the seller => it is still available, is your offer still standing? offcoarse it was !! Then here is the odd fellow: * EK 2 * White falcon - knight second class with X * Austrian WWI remembrance medal * Hindenburg cross * Red cross award - wich one ?, grade? Indeed a strange mounting, what can we learn from this one? a few questions that do cross my mind: - The combo is probably too thin to ever reach a ID? - why are there no long service awards? - why is the Austrian medal before the Hindenburg? - who where the recipients of the red cross one? - could he have deceased between 1934 and the period where long service awards (Thir reich ones) where given? All info and hints are welcome. Thanks in advance,
    6. Hello, Thank you Ran, it will be my first falcon and probably also my only one i will be ever able to afford Cordial greetings,

    15. Hello, I wish to thank all participants in this thread, i have learned already quite a bit from this one What would a Spitfire pilot have earned with the following state of service: * theather of war: Tunesia (shot down and made POW) Then while a POW he is mentioned in dispatch. Thats the info i do have at this point. Cordial greetings,
    16. Hello, Thank you very much for this info, so it would mean that for example in my case iff this person has not real bravery awards for example but he does hold the : Africa star he could wear a clover leaf on it. Iff he was awarded nothing then he does only gets a copy of the London gazette? Strange for sure Cordial greetings,
    17. Hello, Can anyone explain me what a mention in dispatch (registered in the London gazette dd. 1944) does mean for a RAF pilot? The pilot in question was already a P.O.W. at that time but i am wondering what this does mean?, is it a honour?, medal related? Thank you in advance,

    21. Hi Marc, Iff you can find out the decree (correct designation) that did regulate these then you can ask for that certain decree (will be in the Luftwaffe Verordnungsblatt for sure) at the Bundesarchiv !!! I have done it already witrh succes so worth a try, see iff your sources do list their used sources (any serious work should have a sourcelist IMHO !!!) and start from their. Good luck,
