Decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia: for the courage, steadfastness and heroism displayed by the people and defenders of the city in the fight for freedom and independence of the Fatherland capital of South Ossetia, Tskhinvali, was awarded the honorary title of City - Hero. This decree was read by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, at the ceremonial meeting devoted to the Day to start addressing the people of South Ossetia for independence". The Ossetian title of the Hero didn't exist to present day. I don't know whether it is only as "virtual" title or something like "Golden Star medal" will be instituted too. Today most of post-soviet countries (except Moldova but plus Abkhazia) have titles and decorations of this kind.
