    1. Ok. So I am watching this "Superhero Movie" from 2008 Not a masterpiece (to put it mildly) ... But toward the end of this flick I was rewarded for my patience
    2. I think that photo from post #13 and this one came from the same serie ...
    3. Was looking through my old auction catalogues yesterday and found this interesting photo
    4. Ok. Here we have Emperor Meiji signatures from three different documents for Golden Kite Order that bear same date April 1, 1906
    5. All I can say to is that it was issued by some organization "Union of Wаrriors of submarine force of Russia" based in St.Petersburg for "For concern (old style радение is closer to zeal) to the marine affaire" Never heard about such org (maybe guys from faleristika will recognize this organization? ). The only submarine veterans organization that is known to me in St.Petersburg is this one http://www.submarinersclub.ru/index_rus.htm This badge of course unofficial award. But piece looks really nice! Mint quality! And judging by the number (looks like laser engraving to me ) - there are not many of them around! Cheers, Nick
    6. Yes, but maybe our colleges mark them as variations anyway? All I can say is that once I read somewhere that there are 12 variations of docs for this medal. Maybe just another phaleristic gossip
    7. Nice medals Gents! Unmarked medals were manufactured by Moscow Mint Leningrad pieces have better quality and also slightly more rare than Moscow pieces If I remember correctly 12 different variants of docs should be in existence for this one Cheers, Nick
    8. Excellent piece Sergio! Made by Leningrad Mint (ЛМД mark on ring) Now you need to find piece that was made by Moscow Mint. It will have mark ММД at the bottom of reverse. Another stable characteristic of Moscow vs. Leningrad is packaging. Leningrad pieces packed in plastic while Moscow pieces in white cardboard cases. Regards, Nick

    15. I guess you could try "Uniforms of the Imperial Russian Army" by Boris and John Mollo that was published in 1979 by Blandford Press. "Imperial Russian Field Uniforms and Equipment 1907-1917" by Johan Somers published by Schiffer in 2008.
