All I can say to is that it was issued by some organization "Union of Wаrriors of submarine force of Russia" based in St.Petersburg for "For concern (old style радение is closer to zeal) to the marine affaire" Never heard about such org (maybe guys from faleristika will recognize this organization? ). The only submarine veterans organization that is known to me in St.Petersburg is this one http://www.submarinersclub.ru/index_rus.htm This badge of course unofficial award. But piece looks really nice! Mint quality! And judging by the number (looks like laser engraving to me ) - there are not many of them around! Cheers, Nick

Yes, but maybe our colleges mark them as variations anyway? All I can say is that once I read somewhere that there are 12 variations of docs for this medal. Maybe just another phaleristic gossip :whistle:

Excellent piece Sergio! Made by Leningrad Mint (ЛМД mark on ring) Now you need to find piece that was made by Moscow Mint. It will have mark ММД at the bottom of reverse. Another stable characteristic of Moscow vs. Leningrad is packaging. Leningrad pieces packed in plastic while Moscow pieces in white cardboard cases. Regards, Nick
