    1. Simply stick around long enought Specially for you Paul Unaltered set without any doc`s. Sold very recently for (approximately) $11 000. Cavalier name Ivan Petrovich Sherstobitov.
    2. 5-6 years ago cased 6th class of 2003 sacred treasure could cost you (in Japan) around 100,000+ yen. Now same piece could cost around 30,000 and sometimes even less than that Cheers, Nock
    3. Hope we are not talking about unique cultural heritage of recent Olympic Games
    4. His heart melted ...
    5. I'd say in another 5-7 years Remember how prices for 2003 sacred treasures droped in the last 4 years? You'll certainly will be around ... :)
    6. Hear you loud and clear cap! Excellent choice! With all this excitement I practically forgot about box interior pictures ... Cheers, Nick
    7. Exactly + Looks like these "badges" have some stamp differences from original ones... Not in Australia they aren't Cheers, Nick
    8. "Third highest of the four!" Ungrateful P.S. Are you planing to sell this piece?
    9. That's the spirit!
    10. Yep, this is the box I was talking about earlier. "Admiral" badges also could be found in these boxes.
    11. How about box interior Chris? In the spirit of forum information sharing so to speak ...
    12. 13 different badges?! Nice! That's explain such gorgeous box
    13. As far as I know: no grades - only two variations. The one that you showed (with portrait of admiral at obverse) and one with battle ship at obverse (more common variation) . Both variations have same reverse with anchor. But only your variation has additional intermediate decorative element between the badge and the pin. Well, maybe it is indeed higher class for enormous donations ... That's something new! Never saw this badge in such (early type) box. Usually your badge could be found inside wooden box (with purple cushion). The right column of kanji at box cover is indeed different from kanji at boxes for red cross. The box has purple interior of course... Please show how the fitting looks like Regards, Nick
    14. The badge on the left was awarded for financial donations to building IJN in 1890s(?)-1900s. The box on the right looks like box for red cross order made in early 1890s. I wonder if there is a usual additional small column of gold kanji at the back of the box (left lower conner).
    15. Possibly ... Or this is the consequence of the flash
    16. Really?! Looks like you didn't have this problem in the past http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/51582-unknown-japanese-insignia-help-please/ Wrong Nick
    17. That's one nice pick up! Even the ordinary sharpshooting badge in lower class sometimes will cost twice as much. Congratulations! P.S. With these prices I really should move to Australia ;)
