    1. In continuation of the subject … Additional examples of technical marks. Here we have very interesting mark that could be found on 1985 Jubilee 2nd class OPW. “||”
    2. Now try to imagine quality of modern times fakes They are made in original materials and by punching... Cheers, Nick
    3. Unfortunatly even during these ancient times there were pieces with much more quality enamel and details... Obverse
    4. Small "enamel" add-on. Old fakes (made 15-20 years ago) have very distinctive enamel color (consequences of fakers attempts to make "carrot" enamel shade) Let`s examine this old and evidently fake RSFSR Order of Combat Red Banner. Obverse (don`t you think that enamel looks familiar?)
    5. Another portion of food for thought Nice cosy № 1445. I wonder if Oleg gonna like this one Hope everybody could form their own opinion by comparing № 1445 and № 2014 ;)
    6. Naturally Nope. Not like me. You certainly found some "new" ways. First of all I have never displayed 9 identical badges Not to mention that I politely answer to polite questions and know some magic words like "hi, thanks, regards, etc." Finally when I post something I give a correct description of this "something". And if it comes to that - GMIC has special section for that "showing" activity http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/gallery/ Enough place for 9 identical obverses and 9 identical reverses of 9 Halhi badges that you have in your collection ;)
    7. In some sense Paul You see essentially ГОСТ = State standard specification (in case of flags we are talking about material, size, etc ...) Yes, this old soviet state standard for flags is still in use in modern Russia and every firm that manufacture flags should comply with it. Cheers, Nick
    8. It's not the brevitas of questions dear Claudius- it's the style of responses I was talking about The last time I checked - this simple rule was still holding (among more or less gentlemanly persons of course) "question - answer - response (at least do you agree or not)" Instead we have "question - aswer - silence .........." It's not that I was mortally wounded by this, but I believe that Id facere laus est, quod decet, non quod licet As for this medal - I am not its owner (I don't collect remnants ) In general I really regret that I responded to this thread which was started by such uncouth and ignorant person as usaiforce. This is of course (judging by his past and current threads) his typical communication style. Regards, Nick P.S. Thanks for your detailed response P.P.S. O tempora! O mores!
    9. Very interesting pickup Nick! Thanks for posting. Will it be possible for you to post better scans of partisan badge obverse and reverse? Regards, Nick P.S. Thanks Dan for starting this interesting thread
    10. Generally it says that this ГОСТ is still active. Here we have full text http://www.gosthelp.ru/gost/gost7762.html If you'll need help with translation of any part - just ask Cheers, Nick
    11. Hmmm... Nice manners! No wonder many questions remain unanswered
    12. Allow me to help you Gents This ГОСТ means ГОСТ 8498-81 Флаги и вымпелы специальные. Общие технические условия 01.01.1982 действующий Название (англ.): Special marine flags. General technical requirements Область применения: Настоящий стандарт распространяется на флаги и вымпелы специальные, применяемые на морских, речных судах и кораблях http://gost.ruscable.ru/cgi-bin/catalog/catalog.cgi?f1=8498-81&x=48&y=10 It is fully searchable source. Regards, Nick
    13. I wonder if all these recent usairforce threads are just simple adverts ... For example http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/5087-khalkin-gol-1939/page__pid__501692__st__120#entry501692 If this is indeed the case, then I believe GMIC has special section for such adverts http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/classifieds/
