    1. I think at least until 60s. Badges were numbered. Earlier badges had number engraved on the upper part оf reverse, later - at the bottom of reverse. I'll post a few examples in a couple of days ;)
    2. Hi Tom, excellent guess! Yes, it looks like one and most likely it is. "Excellent of measurement technique of weights and measures department of USSR" “Отличник измерительной техники госслужбы мер и весов СССР" Established on April 22, 1945 by CHK CCCP (СНК, a.k.a. Совнарком) - Council of People's Commissars of USSR) order # 829. Was established in commemoration of 100 years jubilee of Board of Weights and Measures. Cheers, Nick
    3. As for today - no hard evidence whatsoever. But we know, that official chart of Manchu awards published in 1944 had "fatty" version http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58635-chart-of-medals-and-badges-of-great-manchukuo-empire-from-1944/ After all there could be simply two different manufacturers ... 7. Judging by the numbers we find on documents more than 100 000
    8. Nope. It was called like that because this version of British armored car was developed and manufactured by Putilov factory (Putilov is the name of the ex-owner of this famous russian weaponry factory). Today it is known as Kirov factory.
    9. This is a souvenir from soviet time. Ideologically "loaded" of course. What we have here is a Russian version of British armored car Austin (known as Ostin-Putilovez) http://www.opoccuu.com/austinp.htm http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%F1%F2%E8%ED_(%E1%F0%EE%ED%E5%E0%E2%F2%EE%EC%EE%E1%E8%EB%FC) When Lenin arrived to Russia on April 3,1917 he made his speech from the very same armored car http://whoyougle.ru/texts/lenin-armoured-car/
    10. When I look at the piece from post #11 I start to think that they might
    11. So anyone can check at any time if this is a real award or not
    12. No wonder! The quality is very high. Try to imagine how they would look in silver ;)
    13. Frankly I've always thought that these (HQ mint pieces) were made for "artistry needs" (possibly for museums) too. Will it be possible for you to post these plastic pieces in this thread? Cheers, Nick
    14. I am talking about guys in the posts #4 and #8. No Sokolov there. You are (obviously) about guy in the post #1 ;)
