    1. A nice example of 4th class from Eduard. For comparison purposes ;)
    2. "Attachment gear" = "hook and the eye" You are quite resourceful guy! I don't blame you.... Especially after all these years that you spent with German militaria ... But please don't forget - you should make modern ribbon colors look more intense (not less!) I'll show you what I mean by the way of example - medal of honor on yellow ribbon. Will create a new thread devoted to this medal in a couple of days. Best, Nick
    3. This is my favorite Chris! To tell you the truth I've never used black light lamp... Never counted stitches either ... Guess I've never really cared much about ribbon authenticity ... Seriously though.. Modern ribbons have 1) slightly different attachment gear 2) slightly different silk colors (generally less intense colors) 3) slightly different texture (they give you more "chemical" like feeling and they are less rigid, than older ones) Regards, Nick

Hi Chris and welcome! Our colleague Claudius gonna like this! Definitely Regards, Nick
    6. Well, currently in US Army they are defining this job as "the job specialty of Finance paymaster works on duties such as recording financial transactions on the correct accounting forms, disbursing checks, bonds, advance pay and cash, and organizing past expense information to help plan and lay out future budgets" Sounds fascinating! Check out their recruiting office in SF - 670 Davis Street (tel. (415) 433-4512)
    7. Cool! If you'll find this set, please post it here ;)
    8. Wrong guess ... Personally I blame the Admiral!
    9. Some say that the total number of issued badges is ... 28 (!?! ) Well, let me know what you think (or heard ) about this badge Cheers, Nick
    10. The only photo of the cavalier of this badge that I saw (actually only cavalier`s chest )
    11. According to one source this badge was created by the RVS Order # 15 on January 20, 1928. The badge was issued for "special achievements in combat training" The badge awarded to formation commanders was in gold gilt. Here comes its replica :)
    12. Check out the price (in US $) of this badge in famous Avers #8 (Obverse #8) By the way, the piece in the Avers #8 most likely is fake too
    13. Never seen the real one. Only fakes (or, if you wish, replicas)... Some say that this badge is pure fantasy and was created as specially priced piece for american collector in late 90s ... Others that this is the rarest soviet military badge ... Check it out (all pieces that will be posted in this thread are replicas)
