Opinions on this first model? Seems to match the Schwerin badges I've compared it with, though I believe it to be repainted? Might just be the flash. Will obtain pics of the back tomorrow.

Very interesting hearing of these pieces background history. There you see how much of it is lost by the change of few hands. Did you acquire the whole display board, if so would it be possible to see it?

Ah, I was about to post that one later today. Giggled in the beginning, but then realised all the misdirected effort that goes into them. And the worst part, his actual monetary gain of these "things". -
A first one for me. Only read about it before. As Hieronymussen writes, Ludendorff were the lowest ranking officer that were bestowed it, then the rest of them must have been some very senior officers.

Item removed. I guess he shouldn't offered the repeatspange if the bars were to end at more than 2000euro. Still greedy. Should've saved the pic of the backs. Darkblue backing on the medalbar and red godet(?) on the ribbonbar.

Belongs to the butcher in the madness thread. This time it was only the ek2 repeat spange that went. Looks like the right coburg ribbon was used for the fullsized-bar. Tailor got the wrong ribbon?

Roman, A very nice picture indeed. Shame on the seller breaking it up. Did you save the pictures of the mini-chain and bars? It would be nice to atleast have them complete in this thread. So this would be a Hausorder kl.4 zweite abteilung, with 47 awarded?

Ah, so it was that you were mentioning in the "Madness" thread, somehow it never clicked at this end. Thank you for explaining it. A shame the medalbar in that thread was butchered, as it would've been nice to see.

Gentlemen, a very informative thread. Is this mans connection with Sweden known? Was wondering if the putting of an foreign (or domestic) neckaward on a ribbonbar or an medalbar, was usual and were not seen as a lack of common courtesy, as i've never seen it before.

I'm having a hard time seeing it reaching 3750 Euro complete. But never say never, have to keep in mind the last ebay-bar that was discussed. Seems a member got the case and the slaughtered pieces.

I don't think anybody should, even if this particular specimen was unaware of his folishness, others do break groups for maximizing their profit. And by trying to keep it togther, we the collectors are feeding their wallets. We should see these groups as lost and definitely not increase the final price. As one of my countrymen said it will never be authentic again.

Scott, when you're shrinking the images, i guess you've used paint, make sure that you change the size both in horizontal and vertical way. Otherwise they're easily overskewed.
