    1. Another thing that has been puzzeling me: white thread to hold the O2 mask strap. I have checked some of the pics in this post, but none of them exhibit this trait.
    2. Hi Bill, Can you post close ups of the liner, please? I may be misinterpreting the pics, but it looks to me like the jacket is lined with a very light and lightweigth material, perhaps parachute silk or something similar. Do you or the owner have any info concerning labels, stamps, zipper makermmarks, maker marks on press studs etc? And does either of you have any pics showing areas that may have been unexposed to the elements, like the inside of a pocket? Thanks and regards, Sandro
    3. Would this be the color pic you gentlemen had in mind? It hails from the Gmeline book on hte Luftwaffe. Regards, Sandro
    4. Pics # 8 and 9, showing details of the jacket?s construction. All of the pics I have posted appear to show (1) white backed eagles; (2) solid waistbands and (3) the presence of a mappocket on the left upper breast. An exception to (2) appears to be the jacket of Werner M?lders shown in Francois second post: but also in that pic, the zipper (if it runs to the bottom of the jacket) seems to lack the cotton reinforcements present on the jacket shown in Bill?s pics. I?ll be interested in hearing your thoughts. Regards, Sandro
    5. Pic # 5 - The characterstics of the jackets seem consistent throughout all of these pics.
    6. Francois alerted me to this excellent thread. Studying the pics of the GW Bill Bourque posted, I noted some differences in construction between that jacket, and the ones shown in photographs my mentor in this field kindly shared with me. Firstly, all of these pics seem to confirm Jos?assesment that the eagle on original GW?s comes with a hite backing. Secondly, it strikes me that whilst the jacket shown in hte pics posted by Bill has the usual cotton reinforced front zipper and woolen waistband also found on the blue summer LW jacket, the white jackets in the pics I will show seem to have a solid woolen waistband, and therefore seem to be of the pullover type. Hope this is of some use, Regards, Sandro
    7. I thought you?d promised to take me waltzing ..... You did it again, my friend, two beautiful birds for X-mas, Sandro
    8. You could consider writing to the Traditionsgemeinschafft for Fschpzkorps HG, to see whether they can help identifying the item, and can help explain the enigmatic "70" (which possibly refers to the date of a reunion). According to a recent site, their address is: "Hermann G?ring": "Traditionsverband Fallschirmpanzerkorps" Reinhold Gerlach, Zum Seifengraben 18, 35582 Wetzlar, Tel.: 0641 - 21868. Cheers, Sandro
    9. I?m inclined to think this is a postwar item, which may refer to wartime or even postwar service. The tank depicted looks much more like a US medium tank of the M48/M 60 series than like the Pzkfw III depicted on WWII Panzer Assault Badge. See comparison pics attached. Regards, Sandro
    10. Gents, This is what Weitze makes of it: 1660 Zivilnadel einer LW-Sturmgesch?tzeinheit ovales Ansteckabzeichen, an langer Nadel. Zustand 2+, selten. ? 60,00 Regards, Sandro
    11. Rich, I'm not familiar with this type of airbrush. Is it similar to the old badger dual action types? If so, I think I still have a Badger manual lying around that may be of some use. Let me know and I?ll send you a scan once I have found it. Best, Sandro
    12. Fran?ois: an extremely knowledgable, inspiring fellow collector and a true friend.

    13. Beautiful collection, Rich, and - as shown in your other thread - great set up All the best, Sandro
    14. Ernst Petzold, 5./KG54. His jacket was discussed here .......... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3526&hl=Petzold Regards, Sandro
    15. Entirely my pleasure. According to Luftwaffe im Focus, one of the G 38?s was pressed into service under designation "GF + GG". This plane was subsequently destroyedon May 17, 1941, during low level allied raids at Athens Tatoi airfield, while serving with KGr. z.b. V. 172. The pic shown in LW im Focus shows the aircraft in Norway, while serving with KGr. z. b. V. 107. Perhaps this info can be traced back to your grouping? Not sure what happened to the other Junckers G 38. Best, Sandro
    16. I?d put my money on the rather exotic Junckers G 38, of which according to LW im Focus, Volume 6, page 15, only two were built. Check out the comparison shot of the G 38 which I picked up from the web. Hope of use, Best, Sandro
    17. And, from the looks of it, a pole for an emergency flag. Wow, these are hard to come by. Cheers, Sandro
