    1. I don´t know , where it is in the download-book,... I´ve got the original one... Yes, it´s the map I showed above. Regarding rich women... I´ve never met one. I live in a workers region.
    2. Yes, unfortunately yes.... Work sucks, but can one do? Well, about the download. Here we go: http://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/toc/AC01858814/0/LOG_0000/
    3. Tony, you can download vol. 13 and 14. I'll look for the page, when I'm back from work
    4. Hello! Very interesting pieces! The Jg.Btl.7 belonged to the Jg.Rgt.12 (Jg.Btl.7, Jg.Btl.2, Res.Jg.Btl.1) and that regiment belonged to the Jäger-Division. The battle of Noyon started june, 9. The Jg.Rgt.12 at the first day was reserve of the division. The night of the 10th, the Matz should be passed and the bataillon had heavy fights. the 4th company had 18 soldiers killed. At 4pm the bataillon was at the Matz. The enemy-artillery fired too close to their own tropps, so the french went back. So the Jäger took the chance to cross the Matz. The 2nd company was the first on the other side. The fights were at the road Vandélicourt-Marest. The next two days the action stucked in the woods. The Jg.Div. and the 4.Garde-Inf.Div. were the front-units. They won against two french divisions and captured 21 officers, 1087 men, and 59 guns. At the end of june, the bataillon came back to the Alsace. Map: Der Weltkrieg 1914-1918, vol.14 (maps)
    5. Right, Chip! Feldflieger-Abt.66 set-up june,1, 1915 from Flieger-Ers.Abt.2 Renaming in january,11, 1917 in Flieger-Abt.34 They fought at the eastern-front and in Macedonia
    6. Hello! The collar numbers seem to be a X.24 2.Landsturm-Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon Aurich Set-up 27.1.1915 in Soltau, the bataillon was a guard-unit for POWs
    7. Hello! A nice piece! Is it D.A. above? Dienstauszeichnung? Landwehr Ver. means Landwehr Vereinigung (unification)
    8. Thanx Chip! Was it usual, that those units wore metal_numbers? Thanx too, NJoe, but unfortunately, we can´t see the number, but, anyway, that doesn´ t matter; they are metal-numbers!
    9. Hello! My first thought was Mun-Kol. 908, but that was set-up in march 1917, so they wouldn´t have the numbered helmet-covers. So we really have Feldart.-Batterie 908. Set-up 9.2.16, mobile 26.6.16 Beacuse of the numbers and Joe´s AKO, the photo might have been taken between june and november 1916. In that time the battery was under command of the 10th army. 3.10.15-11.9.17: Trenchbattles between Krewo-Smorgon-Lake Narotsch-Tweretsch An interesting detail is, that the battery did use russian 10,67cm (M77) guns! Joe, do you have a close-up of the shoulder straps, please? They seem to have metal-numbers, like reserve-artillery, don´t they?
    10. I agree. Maybe it´s the same system as with the Souville badge. Only those did recieve the Souville badge, if they were in the hot zone
    11. All sources say, that Wilhelm gave the badge to the "Regiment", so probably to all members. You are right with the staffs!! I´ve got a nother souce, that said, the FW were attached to the armies: Regimental staff: to Heeresgruppe Kronprinz Staff I.Btl.: Heeresgruppe bayerischer Kronprinz Staff II.Btl.: XVIII.AK Staff III.Btl.: Armeebateilung A, later Heeresgruppe Albrecht v. Württemberg 1.Kp.: 2.Armee, later 6.Armee 2.Kp.: 5.Armee, later 6.Armee 3.Kp.: 8.Armee, 18.Armee, Heeresgruppe Linsingen, 5.Armee, 7.Armee 4.Kp.: Armeeabteilung B, 5.Armee, XVII.Armee 5.Kp.: 5.Armee, 6.Armee 6.Kp.: 6.Armee, 5.Armee, 2.Armee 7.Kp.: 8.Armee, 5.Armee 8.Kp.: 7.Armee 9.Kp.: 18.Armee, 5.Armee, 7.Armee 10.Kp.: 6.Armee, 5.Armee, Armeeabteilung A 11.Kp.: 18.Armee, 5.Armee, 1.Armee 12.Kp.: 18.Armee, Armeeabteilung B Rekrutendepot: Heeresgruppe dt. Kronprinz Versuchsabteilung: Heersgruppe dt. kronprinz It seems, that only three Sturmbataillone had permanent FWs: Btl.3, 5 and 17 3 and 17 had one FW-detachement (5 Trupps à 2 FW) 5 had one Trupp with 2 FW I am not sure, if only those men did recieve the skullhead, who served during the 150 attacks near Verdun... Tankograd N°1002 says: "His majesty, the Kaiser and King, has at my recommendation, decreed that the GRPR should wear during the war on the sleeve of its uniform an insignia in the form of a death´s head" and "The GRPR and FWs of Sturmbataillon Rohr (5) were the only units to be awarded the desth´s head insignia."
    12. The FW didn´t belong to the Sturmbataillone. The FW detachements were accorded to those bataillons, so they didn´t have an own staff, just fighting personal. Do you have photos of FW men without the badge?
    13. As far as I know was it a unit badge for every single man in that unit. But that´s just my opinion...
    14. Hi Chris! The Garde-Res.Pi.Rgt. was set-up in april 1916 by a "joining together" of all Flammenwerfer-Kompanien. Its 12 companies were set in action in different battles. Each Sturm-Bataillon had a Flammenwerferzug. The regiment recieved the skullhead after 150 flamethrower-attacks at Verdun. (A.K.O. from 28.7.1916) So, it´ll be a combat and/or a unit badge (patch) http://www.tapferes-westfalen.de/wissen/flammen_abzeichen.htm http://www.kaiserscross.com/40029/76401.html
    15. That´s a nice piece, Chris. Note the late date. 9/18. The Bataillon was under command of the Schützen-Bataillon Pflugradt
    16. Hi! Unfortunately you´re right... There were heavy losses by the Freikorps units. But here in this area a lot of people were (and stil are) red. I live in the centre of those actions...
    17. Hi Chris! As far as I know, the bataillon held its number and became Reichswehr-Jäger-Bataillon 10. It was under command of the Reichswehr-Brigade 10. In the early Reichswehr (since october 1919) it became II.(Jäger)/RW-Inf.Rgt.20 Brausnchweig Note, that the bataillon saved its "Jäger" name
    18. Sorry, I put it in "Freikorps". Could someone move it into the right thread? Thanx!
    19. And stil another one from the bicycle-bataillon Nr.6 Hartmannsweiler Kopf, Waldkarpathen, Bukarest, Flandres, baltic Islands, Livonia and Estonia (as police-force)
    20. Here is another Jäger (Res.Jg.Btl.10), who had seen a lot (later he was unfortunately wounded by a shot in the lungs) He saw: Tyrol (in fall 1915 - so he surely did wear the Edelweiß!), Serbia, greek border, Verdun, Fort Vaux, Fleury, Thiaumont, Rumania, Vulkan-Pass, Hermannstadt, Roter-Turm-Pass
