Emedals has this badge listed as Italian Kingdom sub badge, 1942. I have never seen it before. This is one I have. I found it on one of the beaches in my town. We were searching there a lot cause that is the place where they threw all the rubble after bombardment in ww2. Name of the city is Zadar(Zara) and it was under Italian rule until 1943. We found lot of Italian insignia there but this one was unusual. At first I thought it was Spanish. Maybe sailors went in Spain on some Submarine training i thought. But now, when I found this badge on Emedals it seems it is Italian. If that badge is Italian at all. Only difference is that mine is made of silver and it has that hole for a stone, like Spanish sub badges have. What do you think. Are these badges Italian at all? Maybe Barry made a mistake while listing that badge or I am completely wrong going into spanish direction.

These are Kingdom Yugoslavia sailor and soldier(officer???). Cap tally says "Torpiljarka T6" which means "Torpedo boat T6". Torpedo boat T6 is ex Austro-hungarian Tb 93F. It even served in Italian navy during ww2 but crew sank it after capitulation 1943. If you are not interested in this photo I would gladly buy it or trade something cause I am collecting Kingdom Yugoslavia navy photos. This is photo of SMS Bodrog and Austro-Hungarian sailors. SMS Bodrog later became Yugoslav monitor Sava.

I´ve bought this photo recently. I am not familiar with French uniforms, nor medals. Is this army uniform or uniform of a government official? Considering the medals he is more of a scientist than soldier. I would be very grateful if you guys can help me with medals too. I hope I guessed them all but there is a big possibility I didn´t. 1. France; Order of Academic palms - Knight 2. Norway: Order of St. Olaf, Knight ???? 3. France; Possibly Order of Agriciltural merit ( ribbon is not the same) ??? 4. Imperial Order of the Dragon of Annam Knight 5. Tunisia: Order of Glory (Nishan al-Iftikhar), Officer 6. Montenegro; The Order of Danilo I , Officer

Can you help me with Japan medal he wears. I know it is Order of the Rising sun but I am not sure which grade. 3rd, 4th or 5th? This cardboard photo was taken in Wien. Considering the paper, it is probably from the 1890ies. Can you tell me is he a soldier or ambassador maybe? I am not familiar with Japanese uniforms so any help would be appreciated.

Yugoslavia - Shinny IKOM orders
Von Thronstahl replied to paja's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
I know for sure they are doing restrikes of badges but I am just guessing they could do it with YU orders too. Few people I know were victims of these scammers. They lost thousands of euros. These scammers are all well known and much appreciated Croatian collectors. They are one of the reasons I stopped collecting Croatian badges. -
Yugoslavia - Shinny IKOM orders
Von Thronstahl replied to paja's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Almost all on that page is sold He doesn´t have it anymore. Probably it is true that he bought big stash of medals and orders cause all big dealers from Zagreb bought it too. From IKOM, Jadran film and later they were buying Croatian medals and orders, buckets of them too. I am not that familiar with Yugoslav orders but one thing I know for sure. People from IKOM are doing restrikes of all Croatian badges from Homeland war. Market is flooded with them and new collectors can´t say what are the real thing or restrikes. i don´t know if this is IKOM´s chance to earn more money or few IKOM workers side gig. So I wouldn´t be surprised if they are doing it with Yugoslav orders too -

Hermes or Mercury was very popular in the beginning of 20th century. Lot of merchant organizations carried his name. For example pin of "Croatian merchant society"(literal translation): Handel in German means trade, trading, commerce, business..... so this tinny is probably of merchant marine or some organization close to sea trade. And production of these types of badges, nevermind the theme, was also very popular in that period. You are all probably familiar with this Abzeichen: It is Austro-hungarian Kappenabzeichen but A-U never had any Handel U-boots like Germans did.
