    1. Thanks a lot for all of your replies! It is great to see the interest also in older bars, and the "bad news" that it's impossible to identify the holder of the bar aren't really bad, because now there are some more information than before about this man, so there is a short story which is better than none... I thought the prussians had a list of the recepients of thier crosses, especially of the non-combattant... Is there really no possibility to get an information about the holders fron another source?--- Nvertheless - in my collection I have an 1866 non-cobattant cross and also the 1848/49 medal of hohenzollern, so it's time to look for the red bird! Thanks again westfale
    2. Here the picture of the rearside of the bar. I've checked the ribbons with black light, and they doesn't glow, so I think they are original. westfale
    3. Hi! I've bought this bar a few days ago from a german dealer mostly due to the 1866 non-combattant cross. Now I would aks you: Is there any possibility to get a little bit more information about the holder of the bar? I hope some of you could help me with the reconstruction of the possible career of the holder or with some other information... Thanks a lot westfale

    13. Hi! Does anyone of you have seen a seal like this: an sitting man like a king with crown, right of him at the surface sittingan lion and at at his left side an shield with a prussian eagle. In his right hand there is an scepter with an snake around it, and to the left side of the seal there are something like an palm, and to the right side like something like laurel. I don't know why, bot I can't post an picture here, so there is only the discription above... The upload-function does not work! Thanks for your help! westfale
    14. Thanks a lot to all for your help - now I have much more information about the former "unknown major vietze" and his role during ww1! Hope to find with these details much more in the net about him and the "ingenieur und pionier-korps"... Thanks again westfale
    15. Hello! Does anyone of you could give me some details about the life and/or the career of the imperial german major (1905) Vietze from the "Ingenieur und Pionier-Korps"? I found a lot of "Vietze" in the net, but because I haven't his fully name I couldn't detect him really, and so it would be a great help if you can give me some details about him and his life! Thanks westfale
    16. Sorry for the confusion - My question for pictures and the marks are in connection with an 2nd type civil class MBE I would like to buy, but because I normally collect german awards I have no detailed information about the order and especially about fakes, so I asked for the marks and/or stamps because it would be easier to see "fake or not". And also the question for the hq-pictures - they are for comparison to the order I am interested in. Unfortunately I forgot to make some pictures of the award which I am interested in, and the man who offered me the order was an old man with no digital camera and no detailed catalogue of his medals/awards... Again, sorry for the confusion - the pictures I am interested in was given to me; the award which was offered to me is not named like to MBE on the picture above. Is this normal? And were I can find the silver-marks, if there were silver-marks (because it's made of silver, isn't it?). Thanks for your help! westfale
    17. Hello Ed! The picture-links are ok, but I need a detailed picture in better quality, so: Could you post me a scan of an MBE, front and rear side? Do you have an silver-stamp/mark on it? westfale
    18. Hello! To compare with an "member of the british empire" - cross I have seen a few days ago and which I would like to buy I would like to ask for an HQ-picture of these order. I have found a few pics here (mostly on bars) but in my oppinion not really good for comparison, so it would be great if someone of you could post me his order! Additional: is there an official homepage of the members or the gouvernement about it? And, at least: Does anyone have graphics - not pictures - of british medals and/or orders or could give me a link to them? Thanks a lot for your help!! westfale
    19. Glenn, Thank's a lot for your help to give me some more details! Regards and a nice weekend westfale
    20. Hello! Due to your outstanding help a few weeks ago I would like to ask you again for help; does anyone have some details about the life or military career of "Kriegsgerichtsrat Dr. Martin Czarnikow"? I found only the information that he stay 1914 at the 5th division with the rank of an hauptmann, but nothing else. So it would be great if someone has a little bit more of this man and could help me to fill the "white places" for me! westfale
    21. It is amazing to get all these details in a few days - especially, if you ask also in a specialist forum in germany and got NO information! Thanks to all for your help and the really good info about an before unknown soldier! J?rgen
