    3. Hi! I would like to check this MBE - is it correct that the hallmarks shown on its rearside are saying that it is an MBE made 1917, means one of the first ever made? I'm not shure because it is a little bit tricky to identify the letter... Hope someone can help me! Jürgen

    5. Hi! I've got this amazing Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, but no more information. Could anyone of you give me some more details, e.g. time of producing, manufacturer or anything else to have some more info about this award? A very very nice decoration and really massive, too! regards from germany westfale
    6. HI! Todays new member of my collection, never seen before: The cross for grand officers of the order of merit of the brazilian carthografical society in its original case, both made by Randal in rio de janeiro. The bar and the rosette is missing, but nevertheless a really nice award, not often given. Does anyone of you have some more information or other pieces to show? regards westfale P.S.: Due to a broken camera the pictures were made by my mobile with reduced quality, sorry... If there is interest in better pictures, I will make some after repair!
    7. Hi NIck! Thanks for your fast translation!! It was a really great help for me!! Sad that they are not from the same soldier, but nevertheless, I never have seen these in real before, so I decided to buy... Rear of the box I found this, I think the manufacturer... and rear of the certificate there is this sign - from the unit who gave the document to the soldier? regards from germany westfale
    8. Hi! After buying a black box with an certifikate of - as said - the order of the sacred treasure I would like to know some more about the box, the text on it and especially the text on the document. Could anyone of you give me some more details about it? Thanks for help westfale
    9. Hi! After purchasing this interesting cross of the Order of Malta there is one question left for me: why this cross did not have the "normal" rearside inscrption "A.D. MCMXXIII"? I have seen some other pieces like this looking at some sellers, but why this cross is different or who made it and at which time i don't know, Does anyone have more information about this and could give me some details? Thanks for your help! westfale

    15. Gentleman, not really special, but for me my first 15years DA so made - not typical, but mounted as a single bar; does anyone have similar pieces especially of the other ones (iron/gold)? regards westfale
    16. Gentleman, today I've recieved this beautiful medal - I think given to remember the capture of the fortress of lille. I don't know much more than the info given by the medal itself, but I hope one of you would have some more info about it, e.g. how many were made or for what special reason except the capture itself or anything else... regards westfale
    17. @Paul: I'm not shure about the time of issue - I have seen two types of medals, one like mine, the other shown in the online addition of the sallach-katalogue which looks more professionell. my type is shown also in some online-article about people who got the award... @gordon: thanks for the info about the dwd!
    18. Hi, I would like to show you one interesting medal of the "Deutscher Wetterdienst" (DWD), the german weather service. This medal will be given for a minimum of 25 years of service not for members of the DWD, but for the people who help with "private service" - which means send data of their instruments (given by the service but used by them) and their reports of specific phenomena etc. It was normally given in a specific case and with an award-certificate from the "Minister für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur". Hope you like it, too! westfale
    19. Gentleman, two crosses, so called "Ehrenzeichen" der "Unteroffiziersgesellschaft Wien", given for archivement. Both are the crosses of the 1st type only given a short period of time, followed by smaller ones with a modified shield, too. They were given in bronce, silver and gold, but I have never seen a golden one. If anyone of you have a golden one it would be great to see a picture here! For more information I found a webside from jörg steiner: "http://www.ordenskunde.info/dtUOGW.htm" written in german. Regards westfale
    20. Hi Gordon! After reading this article I remembered that I have these crosses, too - and have heard something about their history. I've got the big crosses - it's the 1st type of the Ehrenzeichen - in bronce (like yours shown on the 1st picture left) and in silver, too. THey were given for outstanding achievement and all of these are rare, especially the 1st type crosses! So as the man who sell the crosses told me the 1st type with the big crosses were only given a short period of time and were than replaced by the type you have figured on the right side and the 2nd picture. These crosses are smaller and more perfect for the Unteroffiziersgesellschaft Wien so they decided to change the type into smaller ones and with a new type of shield, too. Hope I can make it a little bit clearer than before Regards westfale
    21. Hi! I've got this bar a few weeks ago and I'm not shure about the purpose of it - is it only a bar given for an birthday-party long time ago or is it an official given bar for an official event? Does anyone of you have such a piece or could help me a little bit in this mystery? It looks good made with "buntmetall" possible guilded and with good old email... Thanks for help westfale
