Hi, after getting this amazing picture from a friend of mine who bought it a few weeks ago, I could identify on the right Gen.d.Inf. Fritsch, so it can be dated between 1934 and 1936. In this period he was promoted to ObdH! Can anyone of you id the general on the left or the other officer shown on the picture? Thanks for help westfale

HI! A good friend of mine have seen this nice picture of an old veteran and bought it for me. As you can see, he is wearing a nice group of 1864/1866/1870 medals and crosses up to the landwehr 2nd class clasp and the 1897 medal. Hope you like it like me, not too often to see a complete group like this... regards westfale

Hi! I work on identify this wearer of the 1870 ek2. As you can see he is a captain (Hauptmann) of the IR 125. According to the book about the history of this regiment, published by mittler & sohn 1895, there were not so much officers getting the ek2 in the franco-prussian war. I can't identify the time of making this picture, but I thought it must be close to the war because he is wearing the ribbon with the award. in the regimental list of officers with ek2 only two are getting the award alone - I expect wearing other awards, if he got them, but because he isn't wearing any other I think he got only the ek2. So follow this idea two were left - and here is my question: Does anyone of you could help me, who this officer was? Here the picture and a part of the list (hauptmann to oberleutnant / captain to 1st lieutenant), and thanks for help! westfale p.s.: thx Heiko

HI! Yesterday I've got my first imperial japanese order, and because I am not firm with these decorations I would like to ask for help. It's the Order of the Scared Treasure 8th grade, and I would like to know the time the case/order was made. Attached you see the case, it has no pin and was not made from wood and due to the japanese writing I hope to get the period of time it (and so the order) was made. Thanks for help! westfale

EK 1914 EK award ceremonies....
westfale replied to Chris Boonzaier's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Hi Chris, yes, that seems to be true - here my picture of such a ceremony. A General gave EK2 to his soldiers somewhere in france or belgium, and it look like paper-"bags" for the awards.. Hope, you like it regards Jürgen
