    1. I am not sure but I believe that Karađorđevićs continued to award decorations from the Kingdom of Yugoslavia while they were in exile. But this certainly had nothing to do with them, Cross of Takovo was decoration of the rival dynasty. There are some living descendants of the Obrenović family (I think Miloš's half brother Jakov descendants) but I think this has nothing to do with them either. By the way in 2009 new law on decorations instituted Order of Sretenje (Сретењски орден - 3 grades) with Order of the Cross of Takovo as it's model. Here are just couple of pictures of it. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2013/post-7937-0-27016000-1373393467.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2013/post-7937-0-97186500-1373393541.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2013/post-7937-0-07850000-1373393508.jpg
    2. Could be something related to Greece as well. Flag with 4 Bs (Basileus Basileon Basileuon Basileuonton) was first used by Palaiologos of the Byzantine Empire. Regards, Radmilo
    3. Greetings Artan, James identified first two medals, the third one is Karl-Truppenkreuz (Karl Troop Cross). As for the uniform I believe it is for the Grenzjäger captain (Hauptmann). Regards, Radmilo
    4. Greetings Obi, I watched that decoration on ebay, if I remember well another member of the forum was the seller. That was the first time I saw that variant, nice catch, thanks for images!
    5. You are welcome Antonio. Easy mistake to make considering the name, location and predominant nation in both of them.
    6. Those are ribbons for decorations of Republic of Serbia introduced in 2009. First row is Order of the Serbian Flag (Орден српске заставе) although I think that the stripes should be yellow, not white. Second row is Order of the Star of Karageorge (Орден Карађорђеве звезде), third Order of Sretenje (Candlemas) (Сретењски орден). First ribbons in all three rows represent the look of sashes, neck ribbons and the triangular "chest" ribbons used for those orders, others are for first, second and third grade. Fourth row, from left to right Golden medal for zealous service (Златана медаља за ревносну службу), Silver medal for zealous service (Сребрна медаља за ревнсосну службу), Golden Miloš Obilić bravery medal (Златна медаља за храброст Милош Обилић) Silver Miloš Obilić bravery medal (Сребрна медаља за храброст Милош Обилић). And the last row Golden medal for merits (Златна медаља за заслге) and Silver medal for merits (Сребрна медаља за заслуге). Serbia today has three more orders not represented on table above, Order of Republic of Serbia - 2 grades (Орден Републике Србије) Order of the White Eagle with swords - 3 grades (Орден белог орла са мачевима) and Order of merit for defense and security - 3 grades (Орден заслуга за одбрану и безбедност). Regards, Radmilo

    14. You are most welcome Ilja. That would be Yugoslav Order of Tesla 1st class introduced in 1998. I used that same picture in this topic on FRY decorations: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/54281-federal-republic-of-yugoslavia-post-1990/ I believe that that particular order was awarded to Military Medical Academy.

    20. You are welcome Paul. I think that it should be, why not, of course if Artan has nothing against that. Regrads, Radmilo
    21. 01. Order of Republic of Srpska is the highest order of Republic of Srpska. There are two variants, on a chain and on a sash. A) The one on the chain is awarded to Heads of States, most prominent individuals for outstanding deeds and merits and to individuals and institutions who have contributed significantly to the creation of Republic of Srpska. Metropolitan Amfilohije receiving the order in the name of Serbian Patriarch Pavle from the hands of president Rajko Kuzmanović. B) The one on the sash is awarded to prominent individuals for merits in development of international cooperation and for contribution to the state. President Milorad Dodik awarding (now former) President of Serbia Boris Tadić and Military Medical Academy (Order received by General Marijan Novaković). http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2013/post-7937-0-32698400-1372942217.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2013/post-7937-0-10693300-1372942311.jpg
    22. Greetings Ilja and thank you for reviving this topic, I've been meaning to start a new topic on decorations of Republic of Srpska for some time, this is an excellent "excuse". In 1993 Republic of Srpska introduced the following orders: 01. Order of Republic of Srpska (Орден Републике Српске) 02. Order of Nemanjić (Орден Немањића) 03. Karageorge Star (Карађорђева звијезда) 04. Order of Miloš Obilić (Орден Милоша Обилића) 05. Order of Njegoš (Орден Његоша) 06. Charity Cross (Крст милосрђа) Medals: 01. Medal of Petar Mrkonjić (Медаља Петра Мркоњића) 02. Medal of Milan Tepić (Медаља Милана Тепића) 03. Medal for Merits Towards the People (Медаља заслуга за народ) 04. Medal for Bravery - Gavrilo Princip medal (Медаља за храброст - Медаља Гаврила Принципа) 05. Medal for Military Merits (Медаља за војне заслуге) 06. Medal for Military Virtues (Медаља за војничке врлине) I believe that three more orders were instituted later but I was not able to determine when exactly. Those are: 01. Order of the Flag of Republic of Srpska (Орден заставе Републике Српске) 02. Order of St. Petar Zimonjić (Орден светог Петра Зимоњића) 03. Order of Honor (Орден части)
    23. Dear Artan, As far as I know they were made of brass or tombak. It also looks a bit cruder (take a look at the swords and balls on edges of the cross). If not just silvered like Paul mentioned maybe some private workshop or perhaps even a copy(?). I've seen these medals being sold as souvenirs. An interesting topic with lot of different variants can be found here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/23820-serbia-different-types-of-commemorative-wwi/?hl=%20ww1%20%20commemorative%20%20medal Best regards, Radmilo
