    2. On to the 3rd book of the Destroyermen, Maelstrom from Taylor Anderson

    3. Would love to see a closeup of the bar you made.... the frame with everything looks very good. Well worth the effort I would imagine Ramon
    4. Wow, that looks like quite the undertaking..... Hope you'll keep us posted on its progress (with photo's of course)
    5. Could easily be faded... its not bright purple in any way. The photo shows the color pretty accurate.
    6. Yep, I decided to "of course" not go with them and went to emedals. I really do appreciate the way emedals communicates..
    7. 3) And since I'm at it... what about this Wilhelmina thinghy.... any idea on what this was for.. the dates indicate her regency. This one has NO markings what so ever
    8. 2) And while we're at it... what about this one: I know its a knight in the order of the dutch lion... but what is the purple rosette? This one is from Wielik
    9. 1) I am wondering if any of you out there knows which order this is? Its from the goldsmith La Haye (they have made multiple Dutch orders)
    10. I do have a question for all RAO experts on here... It looks like there is some gold residue on the arms of the cross. Did these crosses ever come gold gilded or colored in any fashion? Ramon
    11. I've decided to get it and got the price down to where I wanted it and IT just came in the mail today..... It is a magnificent little piece I am absolutely psyched about it... This is beside the fact that I am so happy to be the proud owner of a Red Eagle finally. I do want to thank all here for being so good to point out what to look for etc etc.. This forum can be great. Ramon Some pictures...:
    12. Thank you Emmanuel, I was actually not worried about it being fake, I wanted good quality photo's to determine its quality. I did however had some doubt about the originality of the case, but this all was by no means a deal breaker. When I asked for some additional photo's and didn't hear back I got a bad feeling (since they had been responding pretty quick before that). And when I inquired again I got a rely that our agreed price didn't stand any more and that I was going to have to pay more... So with the info obtained on this forum about them I can only assume they didn't actually have the medal there and were therefore unable to give the specific photo angle I had asked for. He must have known that by breaking our agreement I was going to walk away. I can say that I will never do business with them again, just out of principal.
    13. I found this one in the database of Andreas-Thies auctions: They have had multiple different kinds of orders with precious stones over the last few years, here some others: (images are somewhat enhanced by me)
    14. I can't just answer your question, but I know that these two sites have some pretty good info. http://www.uboat.net/ - http://www.uboataces...-wolfpack.shtml http://www.uboataces.com/
    15. the silver star looks super.... Nice score
    16. WOW... I have to post this. The last two photo's are from a medal I was going to get from http://www.najafcoins.com/, and after some back and forth negotiation we agreed on a price. They told me they would sell and ship it to me for price "a".... then after I asked for a certificate of authenticity they responded kinda irritated with, Why would anyone fake a order of this price To which I kindly responded that there are fakes of so many orders that you might not expect, but that I wasn't thinking this would be fake, I just want to have a written authenticity for the future.. its just good to have for no extra cost.. Then when I asked for some additional photo's to determine the quality they stated I got a reply that the offer was gone and I was only able to get it for the price on their site... And he just wrote me, and I quote: "Buy your medals some place else where they are not suspicious, we are done" I wasn't suspicious before but after a response like that to a question of some additional photo's and never implying that it even could be fake, I am getting suspicious. R
    17. Seller claims it was original issue box, and it looks like the mark is a silver content mark. sorry for the un-sharpness.
    18. Thanks Hendrik, There is a mark on the ring but I can't make it out at all... So Hendrik, could the box be original, or is it more likely to have been added later? I am a starting out collector and am still learning a lot. Any info you have would be appreciated. Ramon
    19. Just got this one, its from CH. Galere in Brussels. Let me know what you think.
    20. Not getting any reply on that question from the seller.... His communicative skills are very spotty to say the least. R
    21. But what about the back of the SA2X, the crown bleeds into the shield.... is that a common anomaly?
