    1. Awesome!! Thanks Hunyadi--I am ordering it today. I am also looking for a good book on the Romainian forces; have any ideas It cant be as dry as the complete history of Byzantium I am reading. I use this book along with my Medically Relavent Fungus book to put me to sleep I have my photos covered in nice acid free sleves and will scan them this weekend -- thanks again!
    2. Actually no I dont. My library has gotten fairly slim in the past few years. I would really like to expand it to include the Hungarian units. I really dont think the "minor" axis forces in the Second World War are very well covered in the US histories of the Ost Front. Is the book availible or is it out of print? Thanks again! This is more than I had hoped for!
    3. My contribution. You rarely seem to find a photo of a chaplain in the trench (so to speak). I was able to grab this photo last month off of German Ebay. It is named to a Catholic (by the cross) Divisionpfarrer Dr Eller (Gller or Eller I cant tell) No date or unit number yet, but I have not checked my records.
    4. And here it is! I never thought I would get a real copy of this poster. "Help us Win" by Fritz Erler, date 1917! I need to make sure the wires on the back are sturdy enough to hang then up it goes! I love the scene of this photo. The lone soldier stairing off into what is probably no-mans land. He doesnt look clean, bright, or happy. His gasmask is at the ready and two grenades are in easy reach. A real down to earth poster rather than some of the more patriotic ones you see -- I think only the French posters come close to the kind of emotion this poster must have generated. Anyway, enjoy! (Thanks again Bill!!!)
    5. Have you ever had that one item you really liked but was out of your so called "collecting field?" I have always loved one German WWI poster ever since I saw it in one of my first photo books of WWI as a kid (I think it was Time-Life ... not sure) Anyway I happened to see the poster years ago at Bill Shea's where is was not for sale. Reciently someone at the WAF posted a photo of Bill's showroom and there it still was. I wrote Bill and long story short---A BOX HAS ARRIVED!!
    6. Outstanding!! Thank you so much for this information! THis is exactly what I was hoping for!! I'm going to post the whole set here this week so everyone can take a look. Its actually a pretty neat set of photographs. However I never knew just what unit this was and what the individual was doing in Russia. Thank you again for this help!
    7. Thanks you for the reply! I would love help with the translations if possible! Thank you so much for offering! I am looking through what charts I have, and I dont see the Vth corps or the 37th IR mentioned on them. I see the III IV and VII corps, but not the Vth Corps. Do you have any history of where teh 37th might have been stationed during the winter of 1942? Thanks a ton for this info!
    8. Reverse. The photos seem to start out with the deployment of this unit to the east. There are several photos from the train ride, along with names of the areas. Each cemetary is labled also with the area the unit was in, so I am hoping if nothing else, I can try to track the progress of the Hungarian Infantry regiments and see which one matches these photos.
    9. Hi Hunyadi! Here are two scans of two of the photos. Each has the designation I am curious about. Each photo in the set has some kind of dedication on it. I will scan in the whole set and post them in the near future Thanks again! 1st photo
    10. Hi all! I have a series of photographs dealing with a Hungarian unit and its deployment to the Soviet Uniion, 1942. I know they went through Kiev, as there is several shots of wrecked buildings there. The only information I have is: A 37./III/zlj This is marked on most photos of the unit or the units cemetary. Can anyone give me a history of (what I assume) is the 37 Infantry regiment? I have found the III Hungainian Corps unit history, but the 37th isnt listed as a reigment. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
    11. http://www.bender-publishing.com/ I missed this! Going to be ordering my copy soon! Looks great!
    12. Are the artillery guys German or French? The Kepi's they are wearing look a lot like the 1880 - 1910 uniformed French troops. Can anyone place the Artillery piece or the kason?
    13. Thank you very much Daniel! The Bavarian Service Cross was the one I was shaky on. Thanks a ton for the id
    14. Hi all, an easy question for you Imperial Guys, but what is the medal on the medal bar this priest is wearing? Thanks much in advance!
    15. Portrait shot, I notice he looks a lot younger in this photo--I wonder if he was just reporting to the front. The photos of the chaplain later on show a lot of strain around the eyes; I wonder how much suffering he had to witness..
    16. Nice!! Now that has to be rare to survive in such great condition! Did the German Navy have regualr marine units attached to it like the US Navy does...or was it organized differently? Where these the same pith helmets that were used by the German forces in SW Africa during WWI? Hey have you played Red Orchestra lately? I know it was not your favorite Peter, but the new map mods are fantasic!
