    2. Some teenager has super-glued the cloth badge upside-down to the school bag I took it for 2 Euro, but will have to consider carefully cutting the badge, from the flap of the bag (which then hopefully the flap, can be repaired with a more suitable patch), Darn youngsters and super-glue Kevin in Deva.

    9. Hallo Ricky, Seems he doesn't want to pay Ebay for extra pictures, but in some of his earlier auctions he had in the description section a line about sending anybody interested in bidding pictures of the rear of the pieces. Kevin in Deva.
    10. For me, its not the builder who declares his wares has being modern made, its where and eventually when they will get sold on too. Some poor sod a year or so from now might not have the benefit or experience to detect these new creations. Hopefully the pictures will provide our members with enough to learn to recognize them in the future. Kevin in Deva
    11. Hallo AlecH, the ribbons may well be original stock, its that he is fabricating the complete bars and selling them as such, what has to be taken into account is where they get sold on to, the young and inexperienced collector, may possible be offered them at a later date as originals, and at original prices. I think I would leave it to Ricky to comment on the "look" and if he managed to get the precedence of the awards right. Kevin in Deva.
    12. Some singles:- No 6, another repair. Repro Machine Gunner badge from the same seller:- Kevin in Deva
    13. More examples of his past sales, the type of swords he uses will be one way to identify his creations as the other odd looking insignias. Kevin in Deva
    14. More of his work. In all fairness he does declare them to be suitable for reenactors, but who knows where they will get sold on to. Tailor label on offer from the same seller:- Kevin in Deva
    15. Hallo Gents, this set warning bells ringing so I decided to post it here for members notification:- Ebay seller:- gerst. Location:- Texas. http://cgi.ebay.com/GERMAN-RIBBON-BAR-WWII...1QQcmdZViewItem Kevin in Deva
    16. My understanding is its an appointment, for an officer, with quite a bit of responsibility, when on the move he would have to co-ordinate the entire movement of the Regimental items from the smallest item, the fodder for feeding the baggage train, billets for the officers and men, when on the move, coordinate the routes taken when on the march, and where required the allotment of train wagons and carriages to move the Regiment long distances up towards the front lines from Germany. Again it would depend on where the forward elements of his regiment were in action or based. Kevin in Deva
    17. Feldzeugmeister = Regimental Quartermaster? its connected with organizing the supplies and movement of the Regiments baggage and equipment. a Zeug is a train as far as I can remember, so a wagon-train or baggage train, horse drawn wagons to move the units gear. Kevin in Deva.
    18. The rear:- Maker marked P M S ARAD. The badge measures 18mm in diameter. Kevin in Deva.
    19. Another interesting piece is this pin for Romania badge of F.C. Steaua Bucharest, 1950's, enamel. The above was supplied by the seller and I have to verify it, hopefully by talking with an ardent STEAUA fanatic at the Hbby Club on Friday next. Kevin in Deva.
    20. That might explain the odd looking fixing claws to the rear, not an item that would be put on and taken off to often. BTW the Nimmergut book probably will be selling for 40+ Euro new. Kevin in Deva
    21. I believe this is a reference to "Puff the Magic Dragon" a name given to the AC-47 Airplane with 3 rotary barreled belt fed machine guns, the effect of all three guns firing at once was very impressive, to say the least. With every fifth round a tracer, and firing 18,000 rounds per minute, ( that's about 60 tracers each second) it looked like a tongue of fire and flame from the aircraft to the ground, especially at night hence the name: Puff the Magic Dragon. The plane would fly in a tight circle, banked, with the 3 machine guns trained on the one spot, then the crews would let rip. please see: http://www.centercomp.com/cgi-bin/dc3/stories?1005 It was also a very popular song by Peter, Paul & Mary in the 1963 http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=n4W14jLmADU Kevin in Deva.
    22. Hallo Mike, I believe there is a new 2008 edition out, these are the pocket size ones, now with color pictures. Perhaps some of our German members could confirm it, and let us know where they are available from? I have the 1983/84, 1989/90, 1997/98, 2003/2004, 2005/2006 and the book on ribbons 1991 / 1992 so its time to upgrade. Old versions do show up on German Ebay from time to time. Kevin in Deva.
    23. Holla Fernando, No problems, we all had to follow a learning curve, with regards the internet, especially an old man like me What part of Spain are you located in? Kevin in Deva.
