    1. Another great reference book especially in regards to Romanian Military Aviation badges:- INSIGNELE Aviatiei Militare Romane. ROMANIAN AIRFORCE BADGES. by Lt. cdor ® ILIESE MARCEL. Just over 90 pages in full glossy colour covering the period from 1914 - 2007 Kevin in Deva.
    2. Something at the back of my mind says the 10th (Cyclist) Bn., saw service in the West of Ireland late 1919 - 1920 period I will have to check my files. Kevin in Deva.
    3. I only know of the famous "Fuhrer Order" regarding Italian awards, I have never heard anything about Romanians awards being ordered to be removed. Kevin in Deva.
    4. From my reference notes:- The 40th Regiment of Foot are shown at Galway and Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland in 1791. and more interestingly in Castlebar, County Mayo in late 1854 - early 1855 from where they were removed in disgrace for rioting and attacking the local Royal Irish Constabulary. (R.I.C.) Kevin in Deva.
    5. Hallo Tim B, nice example, but in my opinion there are at least 3 variations of the Italian Victory Medal ribbon from the period of original issue up until post WW2. Kevin in Deva.
    6. A very nice piece, go for it! Kevin in Deva.
    7. Hallo Gordon, many thanks for your post, as the article is being offered for sale over the net, then testing that way is not an option. I was hoping somebody here could give some info from the pictures supplied as I am hesitant to buy unless fully sure that an item is real, I still await a reply from the seller with regards weight and a money back guarantee. Kevin in Deva
    8. This has come up for offer here in Romania, Maika geroina_Bulgarien. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2009/post-950-125156823116.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2009/post-950-125156824785.jpg the seller claims its real GOLD Type 2, however no hallmarks, and the asking price is:- €320.00 Euro. Can any of our knowledgeable memebers on Communist Bulgaria offer their opinions? Kevin in Deva.
    9. You are more than welcome, I agree 100% with your assessment of my post, especially the bit about contacting the seller at Militaria 321 and asking if the will give a money back guarantee, it must be the heat, do not know what would have made me suggest such a thing, we all know that only 100% original items are offered on the net, no chance of getting caught out with a fake item. Kevin in Deva.
    10. If you think thats bad, look what somebody is trying to flog as an original postcard from WW2 on a Romanian site:- http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2009/post-950-12509590963.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2009/post-950-125095912911.jpg for 150.00 RON = 35,51 Euros. If I am not mistaken the picture is taken from a website of computer generated WW2 uniforms all using the same face and used to be on the Digger-History Website a couple of years ago. Found the link:- http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-uniforms/all-forces.htm Kevin in Deva.

    14. Rear of the Gilt Piece, with a strange indentation in the lower area. Kevin in Deva.
    15. Hallo Gents. I know we had a thread with regards these but I cant seem to locate it. Recently here in Romania I was shown this piece, which looks very "Bling-Bling" Can anybody give me any information with regards this Gilt piece? Kevin in Deva. :D
    16. Interestingly, in the first picture he has the Italian Inter-Allied Victory medal on backwards Kevin in Deva.
    17. There is no room to put any additional info such as name rank and number,on minitures. Identification would be the same as for the large medal sets, via medal award rolls or hopefully with any surviving documentation and pictures. Unfortunately it is also possible for a person to fabricate a chain full of mini medals just by assembling the relevant pieces, not much different from some of the larger fantasy assemblies seen upon internet auctions.
    18. Looks like one of the many cheap tacky fakes seen around and about. Kevin in Deva.
    19. And Tom Y has one with ribbon pictured here:- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...ost&p=10516 Kevin in Deva.
    20. Is this the one? Not in my collection, but in my hand today for 5 minutes. Kevin in Deva.
