From the order of mounting this would appear to be Turkish with a rather unusal combination of awards. The backing looks like herringbone wool? Does anyone know if Turkish bars were mounted in "Frack Bar" style?

I'd say this was probably a German civilian/diplomatic bar.

Can you zoom in on the round silver medal with the blue and white ribbon...

a Certain Person is going to FLIP out seeing that ribbon in there.

OK, not sure who we are talking about but the orders are as follows, right to left per Frack Bar:

    Turkey, Order of Osmania

Montenegro, Order of Danilo (French manufatue)

    Romania, Order of the Crown

    Montenegro, Nicholas Commemorative medal, 1910

    Portugal, Coronation Medal 1889

    Turkey, Red Crescent Decoration

    Turkey, Liakat Medal in silver

And of course these are all traceable? :jumping::jumping:

Whilst my (Truly) Evil Twin? is correct, the possibility is it might just be a German Bar..... I would tend to be very surprised at that with absolutely NO German awards of any type.... I would tend to think that a diplomatic officer (Because that is what they were....) who would have received this rather impressive spread of awards would have at least ONE German award in his group??? Not impossible, but in my eyes, that's stretching the envelope some..... my "gut call".

I think I know this bar. It was on ebay one or two years ago by a belgian seller and wasn't sold because the start price was to high.

later on it was sold to emedals as far as i remember and the price rose again.

Very impressive bar. The mounting is german but there are three turkish decorations on it.

Just a guess or speculation: Maybe a turkish diplomat or higher beaurocrat stationed in germany? or on a official mission in germany and therefore he ordered to made a bar in german mounting. on the other hand turkish officials normaly wore there embroidered swallowtails. Maybe it was done for half-official ocassions where to wear normal swallow-tail.

My only input is also gut instinct: while an Ottoman diplomat might place foreign orders ahead of Ottoman service or commemorative medals, I can't imagine an Ottoman order of precedence that would place foreign coronation and commemorative medals ahead of Ottoman decorations.

I am a specialist of Turkish - Ottoman Orderds and medals , and I can say that this bar is not like Turkish style , I feel like , it can be awarded to high degree officer or diplomat in Germany , Also it is interesting because ; You can see the Order of Osmanie 3th or 4th class and Liyakat medal , but what is Hilal-i Ahmer (Red Cresent medal) doing near them... Definitely impressive bar...
